How To Choose The Right Online Business Part 3

In parts 1 and 2 of this series we assessed whether you had an aptitude for pursuing a business online. Now that you've reached part 3 you deserve some congratulations. You have passed through the assessment, know what your strengths are, and now you're ready to decide on which type of business to throw yourself.

So lets see now - what are the various methods of earning an income online?

MLM programs. (Multi-Level-Marketing)
Your own product on your own site.
Survey filling / email responding
Adsense content sites

MLM (Multi-Level-Marketing) programs come in a wide variety of types and forms but all have one common characteristic: You buy yourself into the scheme, sell it to as many others as you can, and take out a percentage of the payments made from those in your downline. Some MLM schemes let you join free, but the only way any of its members makes any money is if those underneath them (in their downline) make a payment at some stage. In what ever form they are packaged and sold, they are all as simple as that when it comes down to it.

MLM's represent the most basic form of leveraged volume on the Internet. It incorporates the concept of 'viral' marketing. The notion is that no sooner have you sold someone into the program than they set about selling someone else into it and so on. Many call the structure of such a downline a 'matrix' but really this is a euphemism for 'pyramid'. And that is all they are. You can make money with these schemes but they require a lot more effort than you're ever told at the start. Your positive outlook and self-discipline will help here, especially since 95% of the people you get to join under you won't sell it any further.

Before you join any form of MLM - if indeed you decide that you are prepared to take on the level of work it requires - be absolutely sure that you like, and are happy selling the product that comes with it. Some provide herbal health products, some digital information courses, and some provide nothing at all, just the dubious promise of eternally growing monthly payments.

No matter what business you end up doing online, you will probably join one or two MLM schemes - maybe more. But my advice is, don't let them distract you from your main purpose. You can spend hours every day promoting your affiliate links in these schemes to no avail, and that time could be so much better spend pursuing something with more promise, and more material gain.

Your own Product on your Own Site

Creating your own product for sale on the Internet is not nearly as difficult as it sounds. Whatever you have an interest in, you can be sure there is a whole community of others that share that interest. The secret formula is this: 1. identify a niche, make it as tight as you can. 2.check what products exist in it, what they're priced at and how good/bad they are 3. create a product (typically an ebook) that fills a gap 4. Create a website to sell it with and 5. promote the website.

Survey filling / email responding

There are numerous schemes available now that involve remote administration of some form. If you join one of these, you will be paid directly in accordance with how much you write. Whether it's filling in surveys or replying to emails, you'll earn an agreed amount for each unit you submit. If you throw yourself into this chore you can earn a good income over a period of time and like most menial tasks, the more you do, the quicker you get, and thus the greater your income potential.
