My Dog Ate My Website

Writen by John Thomas

I am really fascinated by the world of on-line marketing. I spend more and more of my time on the net, make more of my purchases from on-line suppliers, but I seem to find out about new about new products on TV, radio, or even mail.

You probably have me pegged... I am an information junkie. I can't seem to get enough.

I started exploring the world of on-line marketing at the beginning of the year to help some of my clients grow their business. Over the past few months I have been drinking out of a fire hose. Event though internet marketing is much smaller that the other media channels it is a really interesting, sophisticated and serious business.

I suppose my experience with Fortune 1000 eCommerce consulting and participation in several DOTCOM era start-ups made a little arrogant. I felt like I knew what was going on the internet. Yeah, right.

My foray into internet marketing now reminds me of the last time I decided to buy a dog.

My quest for the perfect dog led me to a library and the internet to research dog breeds. Then I had a couple of discussions with my wife and kids to figure out what size, personality, etc. that we were looking for.

While we were thinking of making a purchase, we noticed a sign for a dog show. Have you ever been to a dog show? Do you have any idea about the time and money that this country spends on keeping dog genes sorted, categorized, primped, poofed, and pimped. It's huge! And world of dog breeding is a lot like the world of termites. If you don't go looking for it, you don't know it's there.

At the dog show we saw lots of great breed, met breeders and made appointments to check out puppies. By the time we were done we were experts and we picked a great dog, a Brittany Spaniel and named him McKenna. We knew he was going to be perfect and he was.

He was a perfect nightmare; tons of energy and an amazing athlete. He drove us nuts and destroyed our place. We found that we really should have had a demo before we bought. But we hung in there and eventually we found a solution.

Internet marketing is not hiding but you really have to look hard to find out how it works and who is making money. It's responsible for $10 to $25 billion annually, but nobody is really measuring.

This young industry is made up of a wild mix of players: Marketing Guru's, Affiliate Marketers, Product Sourcing Directories, Drop Shippers, SEO Experts, Link Managers, and on-and-on. The whole thing is still very much in the hands of cowboys, and not controlled by big corporations. I really like that.

So I recently inked my first agreement to market a product. I launched a modest web site, waited, and watched. To my surprise, nothing happened. Nobody came - no search engines crawled - hmmm….

Is it time to take the dog back? I don't think so.

I find most things I need on the internet without too much trouble. If marketers are winning my attention then I'm sure that "mercenary" marketers are willing to share their secrets.

I just need to get the right mix of tools and information to take care of my current challenge. The great thing about the net is that you can often demo and test before you commit to a lifelong relationship.

Internet Marketing And Public Speaking The Murder Board Practice

Writen by Larry Tracy

I recently posted an article titled "Internet Marketing and Public Speaking: Ten Tips for When the Twain Shall Meet." One of the tips concerned a means to practice your sales presentation with a "Murder Board." I received several emails requesting a fuller explanation of this practice method.

I decided to write two explanatory articles, so vital is this method to improve one's public speaking, specifically in preparing a presentation aimed at selling off-line your on-line product. In this article, I'll provide an in-depth explanation of this practice method; in the second, I'll cover the seven steps need for a successful Murder Board.

Simply stated, the Murder Board is a realistic simulation of the actual presentation to be made. Colleagues role-play the audience, asking the type of questions they believe this specific group is likely to ask. It is intended to be more difficult than the actual presentation.

If you want to become an effective and persuasive presenter to boost your on-line marketing, this realistic practice session is the most effective shortcut to speaking excellence. It allows you to make your mistakes when they don't count, increasing the odds that you will shine when the actual presentation is made.

The Origin of the Murder Board

The term Murder Board has its origins within the U.S. military, specifically within the extensive training system of the U.S. Army. When a person has been selected to be an instructor at an Army school, he or she must go through a demanding instructor training program.

Graduation and designation as an instructor is dependent not on a written test, but successful delivery of a 50 minute class from the curriculum of the school.

The audience for this crucible can be instructors who have gone through their own Murder Board, and are determined that this would-be instructor will experience the same frustration and humiliation they did. They ask tough, realistic, questions, the type of questions their students are asking.

At the end of the 50 minute class, the aspiring instructor gets a a thumbs up—meaning he or she can now join this band of brothers and sisters as an instructor, or a thumbs-down, meaning another "opportunity" to go through a Murder Board.

Lessons from the Pentagon

This realistic simulation has permeated the military culture. As an example, when I ran the Defense Intelligence Agency's (DIA) briefing team, we had three Murder Boards before the daily briefing to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The first one was at 5:30 AM, the second at 6:30 AM, the third in front of two General officers and all the analysists, one hour later. By the time my briefer or I was standing in front of the Chairman, those intense sessions had provided the right answers to virtually any conceivable question the Chairman was likely to ask.

Why have a Murder Board?

This painstaking practice session has two overriding objectives:

1. Hone delivery skills

2. Anticipate probable questions and objections so succinct, accurate answers can be developed.

Many presenters, while accepting the need to sharpen delivery skills, reject the idea of a Murder Board, confident they can anticipate the difficult questions likely to be asked, and need not practice in front of others, especially their peers. These people may actually be displaying a false bravado to mask their discomfort at speaking in front of a group, perhaps exposing their lack of skill in the presentation art, and/or their apprehension at giving a less than sterling performance in front of their colleaqgues.

They are also very mistaken. I have given more than 3000 presentations, and always find it beneficial to conduct a Murder Board before an important talk. No matter how hard we try to think of tough questions that may be asked, a little censor in our mind generally provides only questions to which we already have answers. In my executive training workshops, I always emphasize the importance of a Murder Board, and the practice presentations made by my clients are set up as Murder Boards to get them accustomed to this simulation.

I am in good company in believing that we need other minds to assist us in preparing for a sales or other presentation.. The man who possessed perhaps the greatest mind of the 20th Century, Albert Einstein, realized that even he needed help. He once said:

"What a person does on his own, without being stimulated by the thoughts and experiences of others, is even in the best cases rather paltry and monotonous."

The Murder Board is the presenter's version of the actor's dress rehearsal, what lawyers do in preparing a witness to face cross-examination in a trial, what the flight simulator is to the pilot.

Just as with the actor, the witness, and the pilot, this simulation permits the presenter to learn from his/her mistakes, so that the actual presentation is (1) more responsive to the informational needs of the audience, (2) answers are developed for likely questions to be asked, and (3) overall speaking confidence and competence enhanced.

The Murder Board enables you to visualize the presentation in advance. Not only is proficiency in speaking increased by such a meticulous practice, so too is self-confidence. Public speaking ranks high in the pantheon of phobias because, in large measure, of the apprehension that one is going to be embarrassed by not being able to answer questions from the audience.

If you have been able to anticipate questions, then you can develop answers ahead of time. Think back to when you were in college or graduate school. Your GPA would probably have been higher if you could have seen the questions before the final exams. The Murder Board permits the presenter a look at the audience's probable "exam questions."

The only obstacle to developing a question-anticipating simulated presentation is your imagination and willingness to take hard hits in practice so you can be more effective in the actual presentation.

Sell Your Product Online

Writen by Marsh Uele

In today's business world, if you're not selling your product online, you're losing sales. If you have a product, make money online by selling online. There are simple ways to make money online.

Make sure your site is professional and easily navigable if you want to make money online. If you have a lot of product, a search feature is a necessity in order for you to make money online. If you have only one or two products, you can use a payment method such as PayPal to make money online. However, if you showcase more product in order to make money online, you'll want to open a merchant account to handle credit card payments. Some merchant accounts will also offer free features, all helping you to make money online. To keep from violating credit card rules, make sure that for Internet sales, you have an Internet account.

Consider paying affiliates to help you make money online. Affiliates are online "word of mouth" referrals and can increase the amount of money you make online. They link to your site from theirs, and all of their traffic becomes your traffic, increasing the likelihood of making money online. When it comes to making money online, affiliate marketing is a no-lose for the merchant, because commission is paid only on sales.

Consider making money online by selling your product through an eBay storefront. Bidding on items has become a hot way to make money online. Having your own storefront ensures that buyers can find you easily because your product is in one place. Through your storefront, you can make reports, track traffic and sales, and receive advertising through eBay. You can try a storefront for 30 days free, making it an attractive offer to make money online.

Web Marketing A Look Into The Crystal Ball

Writen by Halstatt Pires

It may be hard to believe, but the Internet as we know it is just over 10 years old. So, what does the crystal ball show us about the coming evolution of web marketing?

Web Marketing – A Look Into The Crystal Ball

E-commerce has grown by leaps and bounds and continues to set new marks every year. As comfortable as you and I might be using the Internet, it is really only in its infancy. As huge as Google is, it was only created in 1998. Think about that for minute. Google is less than 10 years old. My, how far we have come!

As the Internet continues to grow, how web marketing will evolve is a much discussed subject. There is little doubt the future is bright. As more people join up with the Internet revolution, e-commerce continues to grow. Still, one can't help but acknowledge Internet users are becoming more sophisticated, particularly as a younger generation moves into adulthood and gets issued credit cards.

Web marketing is currently a bit of a mess. Remnants of the old, such as banner ads and email marketing, are arguably one their way out. Banner ads produce horrific click through rates because people are wary of getting stuck on a site they can't get away from. Email marketing is tainted by problems such as spam, phishing scams and identity theft concerns. Personally, I delete all email that isn't from a person I know. It is just too risky.

The dominant web marketing models now are pay-per-click advertising and search engine optimization. Search engine optimization will be around as long as people use search engines. The promise of free traffic is simply too glorious to ignore. Since it is fairly difficult to commit fraud in search engine optimization, it is difficult to see any future legal issues threatening it. That being said, people will always find ways to bend the rules.

Pay-per-click advertising ["ppc"] has a less clear future. The primary problem is click fraud. Click fraud occurs when a ppc ad is artificially clicked. The only intention of the clicker is to cost the advertiser money. Some estimate the percentage of fraudulent clicks on ppc platforms runs as high as forty percent. If true, this theoretically means you could take forty percent of your advertising budget, use it as toilet paper and get the same sales results. Pretty scary, eh?

So, what do the next 10 years hold in store for marketing on the web? In my personal view, search engine optimization will remain the dominant online marketing method. PPC will also continue, but will be modified into something used to conquer click fraud. I also think information publishing in the form of free copyright articles will become more and more dominant.

Combined, these three platforms represent the future of web marketing. Of course, nobody could have foreseen the explosion of EBay ten years ago, so we may all be surprised by where things stand in five or ten years. Considering Google is less than 10 years old, nobody can really say what might pop up tomorrow.

How To Get Higher Rankings In The Search Engines And Flood Your Web Site With Traffic For Free

Writen by Laura Hite

Having a high ranking in Yahoo, Google and MSN is definitely going to get you more traffic to your web site.

One of the best free ways to get higher rankings in the search engines is to write articles and submit them to article directories.

Webmasters looking for content for their websites and e-zine publishers looking for content for their e-zines can now go to these article directories to find articles they can use for free.

When they use your article they must keep the resource box in the article. The resource box contains a little information about you, including a link to your web site. If 100 people pick-up your article and use it on their website or e-zine, you now have 100 links back to your web site.

Back links to your web site will naturally increase your ranking in the search engines. A high ranking in the search engine will increase traffic to your web site.

The problem most people have with this technique is the actual writing of the article. This should not stop you. Below are some tips.

An article contains three parts: Title, Body and Resource Box. It should contain useful content and be between 400-800 words.

The title must be attention grabbing and let the reader know what the article's about. 10% of effort is put into writing the story and 90% is put into the title.

Assume the reader knows nothing about the topic. The body of the article must answer questions a reader would have about the topic.

The resource box is at the end of the article. It should be short, 3-5 lines max. It should contain some information about you -- name, what you do, and a link to your website. You can separate the resource box from the article by a single row of a character such as the asterisk (*********).

If you still don't want to write the articles yourself, you can hire someone to write them for you. You can get writers to bid on your job at www.Elance.com or www.RentACoder.com. It will cost you around $8-$12 for professionally written articles that you can publish as your own.

Before you submit your articles to any directories you must do some basic formatting. Different directories will have preferences on formatting so check with them individually for that. You can download a free text formatter from www.TextPad.com.

You should submit at least two articles a week and submit to many directories. Some article directories to submit to are:

www.GoArticles.com

www.ArticleCity.com

www.EzineArticles.com

www.ArticleCentral.com

www.IdeaMarketers.com

www.Articlez.com

You can do a search on www.google.com for "article directories" to find more.

Submitting articles to article directories is one of the best ways to get back links to your website. Back links will increase your search engine rankings and bring more traffic to your web site. The best part, it's FREE.

Start writing!

The Most Profitable Advertising Solutions For Your Website

Writen by Kit Elliott

If you have a business or a product that you would like to promote, where should you spend your money to advertise it? I bounced ideas back and forth with my TOP marketing friends for hours before coming up with my top five. There are literally dozens of effective ways to promote your website. However, I wanted to save you time and money, so I'm giving you the 5 most profitable marketing methods.

Here are my top five:

#5) Adwords – Google Adwords is a solid place to advertise. People who are looking for a specific product or service turn to Google. They type in certain keywords and if you've paid for your ad to appear for those specific keywords, then your ad appears on the right-hand page of their search results. Your goal is to convert these visitors to buyers, but your website must meet three essential elements: PRICE, PRODUCT, and EASY ORDERING. When customers visit you from Adwords, you get about 8 seconds to show them these three things so they can fork their money over to you OR move on to the next ad.

#4) Autoresponders - If you have a product or service, then you must have a newsletter or opt-in form somewhere on your website. If you do not, then you could be losing out on potential future customers as well as missing the opportunity to capitalize on those customers visiting your site right now. Aweber says that your product must be seen FIVE times before a customer will make a decision to buy. By consistently emailing these potential customers, you increase your changes of turning a visitor into a buyer.

#3) Teleseminars – This is starting to take off big time in the marketing world. There are places that offer FREE 800 numbers for people to dial in and listen to you speak. There are two ways to capitalize. If you have a product or service, you can host your own free or low-cost teleseminar and hold an hour telephone call promoting your product or service. If you want to make money as an affiliate for a specific product then interview the creator of that product and direct people on the phone to your affiliate webpage (add the affiliate link to the product).

#2) Magazines – Write article after article after article. At the end of the article, add a "Resource Box" that will direct customers to your product or service. RSS Feeds and Search Engines are picking up these articles and that equals free advertising for the life of the article. Your article can be picked up by hundreds of websites – and be seen and read for many years.

#1) Joint Ventures – Don't do all the work, let your other business owners push your product. Let's say that you are working day and night making about 10 sales per week at $10. You pocket $100 a week. If there were 20 people pushing your product at 1 sale per person, then you pocket $200 but you really didn't do anything. Now, if those 20 people made the same 10 sales, then you pocket $2,000. Subtract their fees, and you have made some decent money. Add about 100 people to your sales force, and think of the possibilities. The easiest way to do joint ventures is to set up an affiliate program on your website.

All Marketers Are Scammers Pt 1

Writen by Douglas Purcell

Alright, this is something that I wanted to get off my chest for the longest period of time because it never ceased to amaze me. The truth is all marketers are scam artists. I have nothing against my fellow marketers, but some of them are tripping. It's true; just take a look at some of the current marketing products on the shelf because it's a joke.

What's the difference between a marketer and a scammer in Nigeria? I really don't see much, they have more in common then differences. They both write in a convincing and friendly manner, and they both have offers that's seems too good to be true, which is a SCAM. For example, a couple of years ago I was an eBay junkie and I got approached by a scam artist for one of my auctions. If you stay on eBay for long enough you will get your share of scammers trying to make you an offer that you wouldn't refuse.

One scammer tried to get me to deliver a package to Nigeria and they offered a crazy amount of money. I decided to play along because I was bored. They showed me a check screenshot for the amount they were willing to pay for the item, and I realize that it seems very familiar. I realized that tons of marketers use the same exact technique, they show edited screen shots of checks and earning. Those earnings can easily be edited with software, you can even use paint, ha.

But the ultimate comes with the testimonials. How in the world can a product have a testimonial for it if it's just been released? It's obvious that the customer didn't leave the testimonial, so it must be their friends and joint venture partners. Is that ethical, is it believable? Not to me, it looks just like a big fat scam. If a product is truly good, then do you have to bribe people for testimonials?

Its true, marketers actually bribe for testimonials I see it all the time. One of the most common techniques that marketers will use to squeeze out testimonials and I have seen this a dozen times is they will say "I will give you my product for free if you give me a testimonial." I'm serious that is the common scenario I have seen this so many times. But wait to you hear this, I heard one marketer actually suggest for a way to get testimonials for your products is to give your customers 50 bucks. I was like, "are you crazy?"

Don't get me wrong, it's no harm for suggesting to your customers that "hey feel free to send a testimonial or comment any time you like," after they make a purchase. I do that, but I never solicit for it, NEVER. If people give me a testimonial for my product then I want them to do it on their free will, I do not want them to feel obligated to give me one.

Fake testimonial

"Hey XXX, your product is so great and I knew nothing about computers and my monthly salary increased to 15,000 in one month!"

Jerry K Somewhere in the world

Fake, too may errors, what product did they make. How can you know nothing about computers and make a product, website, and market it all in one month and make 15,000? Sounds a little skeptical to me.

Real testimonial

"Doug, bought your ebook, I read one chapter already. I think is awesome. Can't wait to finish the whole book"

Colin Fu United Kingdom

True, this is a genuine testimonial that I can verify just like all of my testimonials for anyone skeptical. This is from one of my customers who purchased my e-book warrior internet marketing

Part II will discuss some of the funniest testimonials I have ever seen, once you think about it you will laugh your heart out.

The 7 Secret To Improve Link Popularity

Writen by Vinct Yeoh

There are many aspects to search engine optimization that are not immediately visible. Among these factors are inbound links to your website. The number of inbound links, or links displayed in other websites that point to our homepage, is called link popularity. The more links that point to your pages, the higher your website's link popularity is. The higher your website's link popularity, the better it would place in search engine results.

It is important to note before we proceed however, that only incoming links should be considered. Reciprocal linking would be heavily penalized by the search engines. You'll just end up with a lower page rank. Additionally, link farms should be avoided. Link farms are websites that solely exist to display the links of other sites.

There are many ways available that would allow you to acquire incoming links. Let us take a look at seven of them.

1. Manual submission. This is both the easiest and the hardest way of gaining those inbound links. Easiest because all you have to do is to submit your website to web pages that allow the same. Hardest because you have to look for these pages first. But here's some good news. You could use the free tool at http://www.webconfs.com/backlink-builder.php to help you find those websites that would allow you to add your links. This would save you countless hours!

2. Article marketing. You could write an article related to the subject of your website. For each article you finish, include a resource box where you could briefly introduce yourself. In this resource box, include a link to your website. Now submit the said article to the hundreds of article directories in the World Wide Web. The result? Hundreds of incoming links from each of the articles directories you have chosen.

3. Forum marketing. You could also become a member in online communities, forums or newsgroups devoted to the subject that your website is catering to. You shall be allotted a signature box where you could put a link to your website. For every post you make, your signature box would appear. If you make a thousand posts on different threads, you'll have a thousand incoming links for your website.

4. Create blogs. Blogs are very easy to set up, and publishing your entries would be a breeze. Blogs are also free. Simply include a link to your website in your entries. This would give your link popularity an instant boost.

5. Provide testimonials for other people. Online businessmen are always in search of positive testimonials for their products. You could give them some glowing reviews, and as a matter of courtesy, they would allow you to include a link to your website below your recommendation.

6. Build relationships with other webmasters. By befriending other website owners, you would be able to score some spots on their pages where your links could be displayed. This would be easy, and it would be free.

7. Provide good, quality, original content. People would flock to your website because of the information you would share. If you have premium information presented in an interesting manner, some of your visitors would naturally link to your website to inform their own visitors about the gems that can be found in your pages. It is important, therefore, that you should invest on really good content.

Many people say that in this day and age, incoming links are almost impossible to garner. Well, with these seven super strategies, you would be able to get the inbound links that your website would need. It goes to show that nothing is impossible as long as we work hard for the attainment of our goals.

Your Home Based Business Motivate Yourself

Writen by Elias Georgi

Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering you own imperfections but instantly set about remedying them - every day, begin the task anew – Saint Francis de Sales

Wise men said nothing succeeds like success. Cliché, but how very true! I would say that about 90% of the time, it is the wait for success that makes one need motivation. what better motivation than seeing your home based business flush with cash? Well here are a few do's and don'ts to help you keep motivated in your home based business.

Motivate Yourself in Your Home Based Business

1. Go-getters get motivated easily. Look at their character and instincts. Adopt their qualities, such as how they attack difficult problems. Becoming restless until you finish a task is essential.

2. Losing motivation when you are out of work for a considerable time is common. Utilize this time and network with a vengeance! Devote your time to PR and marketing. Hard work always pays off. Always remember the reason that you chose to start a home based business; that will definitely keep you motivated.

3. Have patience. Try to remember that Rome was not built in a day. Get rich quick plans almost always fail and you need to have a sound plan and work hard. There is no shortcut to success.

4. If yours is home based online business, don't waste time surfing irrelevant sites. They don't add value or increase your skill. Make the most of your time by adding value to your website. With your superior knowledge and service, surprise your customers. Sterling customer testimonials are often the best motivation of all.

5. Forgetting that the burden of success depends entirely on you proves very costly. You run the risk of slipping into oblivion. Use this as your main motivation factor. Since you are an entrepreneur, you need to wear many hats in order to handle all sorts of responsibilities. Your home based business will benefit most if you remember that both flexibility and adaptability are key to helping your business succeed.

6. Develop a timetable and commit yourself to it. But remember, it is just a commitment for a routine - it should not prevent you from taking risks! Unless you dedicate yourself to the cause of your home based business, you could lose interest and motivation over time. The success of your home based business should, in and of itself, be your motivation factor.

7. There are times you need to take a break. If you allow yourself to fatigue, eventually you may end up losing motivation. Join a gym or leave the office for a walk or a drive. You need time off to rejuvenate yourself, and often this time allows you to develop new business ideas.

8. Organize yourself, if you have not done so already. An unorganized workspace and a haphazard work style will gradually frustrate you before overpowering your determination. Push hard, expand your work time and finish task after task in order of priority. You will find that you will get more and more motivated as you complete tasks one by one, because you will be making steady progress.

9. Doing all things right the first time is important. But it doesn't mean that you shouldn't attempt it again later if it doesn't work the first time. The crux of the matter is getting things right sooner than later. With major headaches gone, you will be motivated to move on to bigger and better things.

10. If you were an employee before, imagine how your employer was getting motivated to run that big corporation (and make more money by paying you less!). Realize that he couldn't have built that empire if he had given up right in the middle.

You can find many reasons for motivation that you can implement without wasting resources. The future that you want to give your child, social recognition and financial success are just a few. Keep these in mind, and you will never lack motivation for making your home based business succeed.

A Vital Internet Marketing Resource

Writen by Matthew Eigbe

Begin from the beginning

Where to begin when trying to figure out how to make money from home on the Internet is usually the first stumbling block, even after we have decided what we would like to do.

It is important that it should be something about which you can have passion. It must be something you truly enjoy if you are to get through the often-difficult early days.

Many people buy into a system, often a multi-level marketing system, that provides them with a "free" website. Almost without exception, these people fail. Answer the following two questions and you will understand why.

1. If all you have to do is join an organization that provides everything, then sit back and watch the money flow in while you sleep, why would anyone in their right mind work for a living?

2. If it was that easy, why would any company share the profits with you, instead of watching the money flow directly into its own coffers?

If you're going to work on the Internet, even if you join a company that offers you a free website, you will need your own site to gather traffic. That means getting listed as prominently as possible in the important search engines. (Search engines do not list affiliate sites; why would they when they are all the same?) It means designing a number of web pages, writing the content, and making sure that this content is presented in such a way that the search engines like it. It means learning a lot of rules, and resubmitting pages to search engines regularly…but not too often.

Bogus material

It means keeping up with the rapid changes that take place in Internet commerce, and sorting out the wheat from the chaff. Many people waste thousands of dollars on so-called learning material that is simply bogus. And even so, your chances of reaching the top one percent of sites on the Internet are slim.

A major requirement

Affiliation and network marketing seem to be the most attractive business models for newbies because of its apparent ease. This is deceptive and that's why only a tiny proportion of them succeed. There is work involved.

In view of the attitude of search engines to affiliate websites, And search engines are a major source of qualified traffic for your website, you will have to have a website of your own. It will give you credibility, enable you exploit your special knowledge/interest build a list of your own and many more.

You can build your website in any of the following ways.

  1. Hire someone to build it for you.
  2. Build it yourself using

(a)One the many WYSIWYG (What You

See Is What You Get) programs in the market.

    (b)Some network marketing companies offer

    site builders in their package.

(c)Learn HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language),

the language for web pages. This is the ultimate.

Although it is not absolutely necessary, knowing a little about HTML will not hurt. The other day, I needed to add a banner for my network marketing company to my website which I built with a WYSIWYG program. I was able to put the code for the banner in my website because I have been trying to pick up some HTML codes.

However you do it, there is some effort to be made. And there are other tools and skills to learn and deploy in to reap the kind of rewards often dreamt of. My advice: Don't believe those hypes about enroll now and start making money in 15 minutes flat. Guaranteed.

Are We Having Fun Yet

Writen by Tim Whiston

Sometimes it's good to have a casual day, you know? For that matter, it doesn't hurt to even take a day off once in a while.

I work really hard at building my business and keeping it in order. Honestly, I almost never take a day entirely off.

But you know what? I don't mind (most of the time) because I love what I do (again, most of the time).

Sure any form of work gets lame at times. That's to be expected.

I just couldn't imagine *choosing* a business that I didn't really like. The world is full of J-O-Bs that are just a total drag. Trust me; I've had lots of em' over the years. But it makes no sense to me at all to invest my money and time building an enterprise unless it's something that I truly, totally, and completely want to do.

Maybe you still have a part-time of full-time job, and are just working your net marketing business on the side for now. If so, I commend you for having the dedication to come home after a full day, fire up the computer, and take care of business.

The BIG question here, is do you like all of this internetmarketing stuff? Are you having any fun with this whole thing?

This might sound silly. But in reality it's one of the most important things you can ask yourself.

Why? Because this business is HARD.

Net marketing is a really lousy way to make quick cash. It just doesn't happen like that. Most people see a profit only after a tremendous amount of hard work and a lot of time and money invested.

But the workload is more than worth it to those of us who love this business.

Naturally I wouldn't sit at my PC for 8 to 10 hours each day if I weren't making a living from this, but I'd probably do it for at least a couple of hours even if I weren't earning a dime. It's wierd I know, but what can I say? I really, really like doing this stuff.

If you don't derive at least some pleasure form the day-to-day activities that are involved in building and running your net marketing business, let me offer you a most profound piece of advice.

RUN! GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!

I'm serious. There are easier ways to make a buck.

On the other hand if you love this stuff the way I do, you most likely couldn't be dragged kicking and screaming out of this line of work. If so, then kudos to you my friend.

Glad to have ya on board. :o)

Key Factors To Guarantee Your Success In Internet Marketing

Writen by Jeff Casmer

Internet marketing is now a very popular way to earn income. You have the convenience of working from home, you set the goals and you apply the necessary effort needed to achieve those goals.

There are various business models with which you can make money online. Whatever business model you choose, what do you need to be successful in internet marketing?

1. Be confident! This is the first trait you will need to succeed in internet marketing. Internet marketing requires a lot of hard work, commitment, patience and focus. If you are confident, you can achieve all the success you desire.

2. Assign some start-up and ongoing resources for your business. Some people seem to think that you can make money overnight and without spending anything in internet marking. This is not true. Internet marketing is similar to any other type of a business; you will need some money to start the business and also to promote it. To be successful in internet marketing; you will need to allocate some start-up and monthly marketing budget. You will also need to invest some time, effort and dedication into your internet marketing business for you to succeed.

3. You must have a high quality product and/or you must believe in the product. Whether you have created your own product, or are selling a product as an affiliate, the product must be of high quality and you must believe in it. If you are an affiliate, you must know the product very well, and you must be proud and passionate about it – this is very important if you want to market the product appropriately. If you are not proud of the product, you will not be able to promote it compellingly. This means that you will need to be completely well informed with the details of the product or service.

4. Your sales letter must clearly show the benefits of the product or service. To succeed in internet marketing you need to make sales. In order for your website's visitors to buy from you, they will need to be informed clearly how the product will benefit them or solve a problem they may have. Your sales letter or website must clearly emphasize the key reasons why the visitor must buy the product; and also what they will lose if they do not buy your product.

5. You must always make your advertisements convincing. Avoid exaggerating in your internet marketing business' ads. People generally know whether they are being told the truth or otherwise. This is particularly important since the internet is now full of scams. Avoid writing ads that may make people think that your ad is one of those scams. Make sure that the approach, language and tone is your ad is convincing. Your goal is to represent your business as a reputable internet business that does what your ad says.

6. Develop a good reputation. A good and respected name on the internet will make it very easy for you to build your internet marketing business. Make sure that you keep your customers happy. If you look after them well, you are ensuring that you get good reviews and of course repeat business. In your internet marketing business, always make sure you deliver your promises on time and in great quality. It is important to build relationships with customers and also with your prospects.

7. Always go the 'extra mile' for your customers. This is related to the factor above. In whatever you do in your internet marketing business, apply more effort and bring in a 'personal touch'. It is very easy these days to run a 100% automated business with the auto responders, lists and ezines among other tools. However, whatever you do towards promoting your business or when dealing with your customers, try to do more - which will show them that you really care about them. You will be immensely rewarded for this – you will build a good relationship with your customers and they will come for repeat business, and you also build trust with your prospects and they will buy from you.

8. Be well-informed about the current and effective marketing techniques that are on the internet. The internet is very dynamic, and you need to develop and learn accordingly about the best strategies for building your internet marketing business. You must know about all the tools you can use such as auto responders, mailing lists, viral marketing, search engine optimization and paid advertising among others. You will need to master these promotional techniques and make them very effective. These techniques all have their advantages and disadvantages. It is also a good idea for you to consider which selected few marketing strategies will work best for your business, budget and knowledge.

These key factors can guide towards your goal of making it BIG in internet marketing.

Small Business Internet Marketing Tip How To Use Testimonials On Your Website

Writen by Casey Gollan

Small business web sites can benefit tremendously from the internet marketing strategy of using testimonials.

Due to the nature of having a web site, your customers may feel that they need a little 'proof' before deciding to buy from you. Because unlike a normal 'business' they can't visit your premises to get a sense of whether you're 'for real'. So the use of customer testimonials in your internet marketing and on your business web site can significantly help ease their skepticism and thus help you with your business growth.

Here's a checklist on how to do them for your small business Internet web site.

TIP #1 Your Testimonials Should Match Your Target Market

The key thing you should keep in mind when getting and posting testimonials on your web site, is that they should appeal to your target market. Your target market should read the testimonials and say to themselves "Hey, this person was just like me when they bought the product/service and look at them now. I want to be like them too!"

So choose testimonials that will appeal to your target market.

TIP #2 Have a Benefit Headline

The headline is the most often read part of the testimonial. So be sure to tell the reader the biggest benefit the person giving the testimonial received from using your product or service. If you write it correctly, it should be a benefit that your potential customers would want.

TIP #3 Include a Photo

A photo will increase believability. The reader will go to the photo and will judge the person in the photograph. They will look at the person to get a sense of whether they can trust the person giving the testimonial. So I suggest that you get a professional to take the photograph.

The more friendly and believable the photo is of the person giving you their testimonial, the more the reader will believe their testimonial.

TIP #4 Use The Name Of the Person Giving the Testimonial

If possible, ask the person giving the testimonial permission to use their name (and anything else you may require). Once again, your reader is looking for ways to doubt the testimonial, so by listing the name of the person it makes it more believable for them.

TIP #5 Have a Before and After Story

A 'before' and 'after' story is not essential, but if you have the room to write it, then use it. I find it good because it allows the reader to empathize with the testimonial.

The testimonial should start out with the 'before' section describing exactly what position the reader was in before buying from you. Then as the reader progresses reading, it should clearly describe the benefits of using your product/service. This of course should be what your reader (your target market) wants to happen to them. This will build believability, and they'll look towards you as an expert because "you've got the track record" for doing it for others.

TIP #6 Provide the Testimonials on Audio &/or Video

Record your testimonials if you can so that the reader can hear or see the person giving the testimonial. It will once again build believability in your product/service.

I suggest audio is a little easier to do than video, because you can record a testimonial on a phone. A video testimonial may take a little longer to organize and shoot – yet if you can do it, include it on your website.

TIP # 7 Have Lots of Them!

Have a goal of having at least fifteen testimonials. You could have more or less, yet fifteen is a pretty solid amount of testimonials. Essentially if you have around that amount of testimonials your target market should be overwhelmed with proof that you can do what you say you can do.

Use your testimonials in all your marketing both on-line and off-line. It's especially important with internet marketing because you have an 'intangible' business. The large majority of your potential customers can't visit your business, so testimonials help them believe in your business and trust you. And by following the guidelines and the examples I've listed above your get more from your web site and your Internet marketing which will intern lead to strong business growth for your small business.

What Is A Niche Market Anyway

Writen by Monique Hawkins

You are interested in starting a home-based business. You also want to use the Internet for your work-at-home idea. However, you are not sure if you can make money online. To make matters worse, you are confused about what home-based business opportunity to pursue.

If this sounds like you, rest assured that money can be made online with a home-based business. You don't need to study for years until you can reap rewards. There are sound business concepts that have been taught and proven to be true by some of the most highly successful marketers in the world. What is the top sound principle that will ensure your success? It is choosing the right niche market.

You might be wondering what is a niche. A niche is simply a group of people with similar interests and needs. They are very passionate about their topic of interest. Think of a small pond packed with starving fish and you have the bait specific to their needs; they will like what you have to offer the best. This, in essence, is a niche.

Why a niche market? Well, unless you are a huge corporation with bottomless pockets, niche marketing is the way to go. You see most of the large corporations blow off niche markets because they are not trying to make an additional $1000 to $15000 per month like many home-based business entrepreneurs and other small business owners. They are seeking to make millions per month, which is good for you because you don't have to compete with those companies that have massive marketing budgets.

It really is easy to find potential customers in niche markets. Here are some examples:

Motor Home Owners - Carpet Cleaner Business Owners - Restaurant Owners - Winter Camping Enthusiasts - Siamese Cat Owners - Dentists - Landscape Company Owners

You get the picture.

Before you decide which niche market to target for your home- based business, here are four important points to consider:

1. Is the market easily defined and reachable? Do you know where they hangout? What kind of trade journals or publications do they read? Do they have clubs or are members of particular organizations?

2. Is the market small enough that you will not have tons of competitors, but still large enough for you to make a good profit?

3. Does the market have the money to spend?

4. Does the group have an insane passion for their hobby or topic of interest? Do they eat, sleep, and breathe their hobby? Are they constantly seeking more information related to their subject? A great example of this would be golfers and NASCAR enthusiasts!

Doing research related to these questions will help you pick the perfect niche market for your home-based business.

As you think about starting a home-based business and what market to target, follow the above suggestions and you will be way ahead of many other home-based business opportunity seekers who want to start a work-at-home business.

21 Simple Ways To Make More Money From Your Current Clients Part 2

Writen by Teri Mramer

It is easier to make additional money from your current clients than it is to go out and find new ones! See 21 simple ways in this three part article series.

PART TWO:

Here are seven more great ways to make more money from your existing clients, continued from part one.

8. Give people a huge discount to your subscription product if they subscribe for a longer period of time.

Example $9.99/mo, or $21.99 for 3 mo., (equals out to $7 and some change per mo.), or $36.00 for 6mo. ($6/mo.). Each larger subscription in time length gets smaller in the per month fee if you were to divide the total by the number of months the subscription lasts.

9. Send your customer a free surprise gift with your back end product offer included.

You can do this by offering an ebook as a free surprise gift and add your back end offer (Or a link to your offer) in the ebook.

10. Give your customers a discount if they buy over a certain number of any products.

Several examples of this are BOGO (Buy one get one free), buy three get the fourth free, or even lowering the price of each item by a certain dollar or percentage amount once the client reaches a certain number of purchases.

11. Publish a back end product offer inside any of the information products you sell.

A good way to do this is to offer customization rights for $20 - $99 inside the ebook itself. This also allows the current client potential income by letting them earn a % of all customization fees from all ebooks they sell. (After customizing with their features and information, of course!) This goes over very, very well.

12. Group your products together in package deals to make more profit form each sale.

Offer the package as a 2nd option when you make a sale of the single item. On the order page - or use an in-between page to show the upsell of the group of products at less than what it would cost to get them as separate items.

13. Include a back end product offer inside your "customer's only" online club.

This would be in addition to the free items and articles and resources. Also have a discounted offer or special offers area so you have a built-in backend in your membership area.

14. Join someone else's affiliate program and use it as an upsell or back end product.

This works especially well if you don't have a higher-end product of your own. Join an affiliate program and promote a seminar or higher ticket item as a back end sale. As an upsell, you would add the additional offers onto the thank you page.

An example of this type of program is Thank You Ads. This thank you page program will get you additional advertising by showing affiliate offers on your thank you page (Using a simple javascript) and showing your ad on other member's thank you pages.

You can also use this option in #13. The member's discount area doesn't have to be all your products. You can use affiliate products as well.

Well, we are 2/3 done :) Look for Parts One and Three for the rest of these great ways to make extra money from the clients you already have!

Being Part Of Groups

Writen by Richard Lowe, Jr.

There are many different ways to have fun and socialize on the internet. One of the most fulfilling things that you can do is join one of the many social groups that exist.

What is an internet social group? These are a whole bunch of people who share their experiences, thoughts and beliefs over the internet. Usually they are united by a common theme or cause (or many causes). Sometimes these themes are as simple as "friendship" or "internet addiction", but they can also be united by a desire to recruit Christians, deliver a message or protest a wrong.

Some examples of groups are Random Acts Of Kindness, Misker's Denizens, Garden of Friendship and Hearts Of Gold. Other groups include Kindred Spirits, Inner Dreams, Web Addicts, Net Dudes and so on.

Generally, a group is started by one or a small group of "founders". The founders lay out the rules and create a basic website, then recruit charter members, who then recruit additional members. Ideally, what you wind up with is a focused, motivated group who performs the duties and tasks required for group membership.

Being part of an internet social group means more than just putting a link or webring fragment on a web site. It means more than joining an Egroup list and reading the messages that people send. And it certainly means more than a nice looking graphics.

Each group has a set of bylaws (rules and regulations) and most have a creed, which is the mission statement describing what the group is supposed to accomplish. For example, Random Acts Of Kindness exists to do exactly what the name implies: deliver acts of kindness to people. This could consist of guestbook signings, articles, giving stationary or gifts, or any number of other small, thoughtful things to do.

Usually a group has committees and you have the option of joining one or more. Being in a committee has more responsibilities than just being a member. For example, if you are on the Welcoming Committee, you will be expected to sign new members guestbooks with welcome messages, or if you are on the newsletter committee you will be writing articles and contributing materials.

The main point of all of this is to get people to be active in one way or another to the group. It's fine and dandy to have a thousand members, but if only ten of them are actually doing anything ... it's really not a very useful thing.

Presumably you join a group for a reason. Perhaps you like the people, you want someone to communicate with or you like signing guestbooks. Perhaps you want to contribute to the causes that the group supports.

Well, then please contribute. This is actually very important to the survival of a group. People need to put in effort. They will find that effort magnified many times. That's the beauty of these groups! If everyone does just a little bit every day or once a week or whatever, then it's magnified by the number of people in the group. You get each person in a hundred member group to sign one guestbook per day randomly, that's 100 guestbooks per day, or over 36,500 per year! That's a lot of guestbooks!

That's the idea. Figure out how you can contribute, then do so. Personally, I've joined half a dozen of these groups. I write an article a day and send it to each of them. Why? Because I can help a number of people that I like with their common internet questions and concerns. I can contribute in a very positive way.

Other people choose to contribute differently. Let's say you are on the graphics committee, then contribute a couple of graphics a week at least. On the welcoming committee? Sign a dozen guestbooks each Saturday. Just a plain old member and not on any committees? Then pick something that the group needs, perhaps a different thing each week, and contribute it.

Don't have the time to do anything? Then I have a tough question for you - why are you a member of the group? I mean, why join something that you don't want to give anything to? Take a look at it - even if you can only do ten minutes of something per week - you can at least sign a guestbook or two. Just visit one site of a group member per week, look it over, and sign their guestbook with a short, nice comment. That alone will help brighten someone's day!

A Powerful Selling Tool On The Net 3 Factors To Apply

Writen by Erny Setyawati

The Internet is a powerful selling tool. Never before has it been easier to start a business, be able to reach out to literally millions of potential customers and make your business succeed.

The Internet also offers us new tools to succeed. Email makes communications instant whether across the street or across the globe. Websites act as virtual storefronts, allowing us to stay open 24/7. Newsletters like this one inform, educate and even give us an occasional smile.

Yet time has taught us that there is much more to success than simply having a web site or using these tools. Time has taught us that the fundamentals of selling haven't changed, even if the tools are state of the art.

While these new tools may change the WAY people buy, it hasn't really changed WHY people buy. Here are three factors that will help you approach people in a way that persuades them to buy from YOU.

1. People aren't ON the Internet. They ARE the Internet. The same rules that apply at a Gap store should apply to your store. Is your site courteous and inviting? Does your site say in clear terms that you know your stuff and that people will get smart answers? Give yourself a checkup today.

2. People buy online just like they buy offline. If they are buying an impulse item, they'll click thru and spend a buck. If it's a bigger ticket item, they'll shop around. Which are you selling? Is the look of your site appropriate to what you are selling? I don't want to buy designer chewing gum and I won't bank at a site that looks like it should be selling gum. Would you? I want to buy the stuff I usually buy, but I don't want to leave home to do it. Are YOU meeting my need

3. People buy what they need, when they need it and can afford it. The key is to give people information that connects with what they need. The good news is that people need the same things they have always needed. Which of us doesn't long for more time, more money, better relationships with family and friends? The more your message is aligned with these needs, the better you will do.

The world is a big place and it doesn't turn on a dime. People will still buy cars just before vacation time and do most of their Christmas shopping about 10 minutes before midnight on Christmas Eve. Don't buck the trend. Understand and USE people's existing buying habits to your advantage, and kick your online efforts into high gear.

1. Your site must be couteours and inviting . Say in clear term and people get smart answers. Free training how to design your own website and the others business strategy, visit us at: http://www.baliglobalmarket.com

2. Your website must be appropriate to what you are selling. The example of the best store site, visit us at: http://www.tinyurl.com/5dhuy 3. To give people information that connect with what they need. The best example of shoping site that offers many information that connect with what they need. Visit us at: http://www.tinyurl.com/5dhuy

An Internet Marketing Solutions Company Confesses

Writen by Jahn A.

a) An internet marketing solutions company tells you that they're going to have Google index your website in 2 days?

b) An Internet Marketing solutions company tells you that he can teach you to develop the best product and make millions in only 1 month in only one day?

c) If you buy an expensive search engine marketing software, it will make you have high rankings on the search engines in matter of days?

*Answers at bottom of page.

Are you faced with these questions everyday? How do you decide what to do next? What can be the perfect internet marketing solutions for you?

Any serious internet marketing solutions company will tell you that the miracle of instant richness through internet marketing just does not happen even if you have spent a fortune on them and the fault is not in these resources. The fault is not in the writer or author of these eBooks and softwares.

The main possibility of it not making you rich is the absolute fact that you've spent too much time buying and looking for miracle solutions and too little time analyzing your purchased pots of gold.

Assuming that 90% of books bought were never been read, how can the reader gain his knowledge on internet marketing?

It took me six month to learn how to build my first website. It took me another 18 to make a substantial living from the net. Lucky? No I don't think so.

Lets compare that to any internet marketing solutions company. I bet that they can sell possibly anything and everything online. Give them a thought and off they go looking for the perfect internet niche or targeted minority groups who's providing the demand, with the least amount of supply or solutions. He then contacts his Joint Venture Marketing experts builds a win-win solution and there they go, he'smaking another cool pipeline of cash by providing solutions to wide internet market.

So how can you achieve this, you may ask?

Simple. Read that internet marketing, book, software or article and absorb its essence of internet marketing solutions. Don't stop just there, because a simple paragraph with a little innovation can bring you profits. The secret is in your backyard. Turn and look around for that particular item that is lacking with supply or marketing solutions and create or build relations with other successful internet marketing enthusiast to build solutions and to help leverage on your existence and make real money online.

Answers to questions above;

a) Please realize that despite what other internet marketing solutions company claim, no one can guarantee top search engine placement because there is a 3rd party who has all of the control: the search engines. What we can guarantee is that we will assist you with keyword selection, keyword placement, and optimal HTML coding to help make your site more search-engine friendly for the current search engine algorithms.

But what you can do is Search Engine Optimized an article and post them on high ranking article submission directory or forum, to give you an indirect indexing by the Search Engines.

This will give you an opportunity to get targetted traffic to your website in a matter of days. This is what the "internet marketing solutions companies" call "The Google's Backdoor".

b) True! you can make millions in a short time, provided that you know what what are the neccessary internet marketing strategies to take. In order to achieve that level of wisdom of making lots of money online in a month or less, it may take years.

c) Refer to answer (a). There is no software that can guarantee you high rankings. It takes actual knowledge and experience to make money online and a "hard shell" of course.

How To Market Your Cleaning Services On The World Wide Web

Writen by Steve Hanson

Although it is difficult to get accurate statistics, it is estimated there are over 500 million people out there surfing the web, and half of those regularly. Studies also reveal that three out of four Internet users are in North America. With that many people out there searching, no business should be without a website. However, a search for cleaning services on Google brings up over 13 million entries. So can your cleaning company profit from being on the World Wide Web? Sure it can! But you need to be strategic about how to get visitors to your web site.

In today's competitive business world it does give you an edge up if you have a website presence. Your first contact with a new client may be through direct mail, the phone book, networking or print advertising. But many people will do research on the Internet on the products or services they are considering before making their final decision.

If you have a website, a potential client or even an existing customer can learn more about your company and the services that you have to offer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can put much more information on a website than you can on a brochure or in a phone book ad.

What should you put on your website? Your cleaning business can probably get by with a simple a 3 to 6-page, static type website. Suggested pages for your site include:

1) Home Page. This is the page people go to when they type in your website address (www.yourcompany.com). Make sure your home page draws people in by talking about "what's in it for them".

2) Services Page. Include all the services that you have to offer. This is a great place to go into detail about the cleaning services you provide. You can also include "before and after" photos.

3) About Us Page. List information about yourself, your training, certifications, memberships, and how long you have been in business. Be sure to include a photo. People like to see the face behind the website.

4) Products Page. If you sell products (even if you do not sell over the web) list what products you have available.

5) Contact Us Page. An e-mail address or phone number should be on every page of your website to make it easy for people to contact you. However, you can also put together a page that includes all of your contact information and even a form that people can fill out requesting more information or to ask for a bid. This helps to protect your e-mail address.

6) Testimonials. Get your current clients to write a few sentences on how pleased they are with your work.

Once your website is up and running, how do you get people to visit?

1) Include your website address on all your promotional materials. Look around and you will see that businesses have their website address on company vehicles, brochures, ads, business cards, and even their voice mail.

2) Include your website URL in your e-mail signature. E-mail programs will allow you to set up "signatures" that are automatically included at the end of your e-mail message. Be sure to list your business name and tagline, website URL, and any special offers or promotions.

3) Join your local Chamber of Commerce - they should have a website with listings of all their members. Their listing should include a link to your website. Many people who visit Chamber websites would like to do business with members, so having your business and website listed will generate visitors to your website. There may also be banner ad opportunities so ask your Chamber for ad rates.

4) Be sure to include your website URL in your yellow pages ad. Most people would rather check out your company on the Internet before calling. I've noticed that few cleaning companies list their website in their yellow pages ad (probably because they don't have one), so they're missing a big opportunity.

5) Submit your site to online directories like Google Local - http://www.local.google.com. If people DO search for a cleaning company, they'll most likely search for janitorial services in their city. For example, "janitorial services in MyTown, California". If you're listed in the online directories, your listing should come up. A few others are http://www.superpages.com, http://www.yellowpages.com, and http://www.411.com.

6) Check with your local paper. They may have a directory where you can list your site. Or see how much it costs to place a banner ad on their web site.

7) Write a press release about your business and post it at an online press release service like http://www.prweb.com. When I search for janitorial services in my local town, a press release that I sent out came up on the first page.

A website is not the only way to attract customers to your cleaning business. However, websites are a great way to "showcase" your business and present in-depth information that your clients and potential clients can access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your website can help your clients and potential clients understand the many services you cleaning company can provide. And providing more services to more customers means more profit!

Internet Marketing Something For You

Writen by David Kunstek

Is internet marketing something for you? Do you dream about working at home where your kids are, where you feel you should be? Internet marketing can promise this and so much more. But, tread lightly and do your research before jumping into the world of Internet marketing.

While many people feel that internet marketing is all a scam, simply stated, this is false. There are quality companies and quality business plans that are proven. Likewise, there are just as many and even more that are not worth your time or the expense. To understand the differences you need to take the time to research and then decide if the company is right for you. First, you should understand that in most internet marketing endeavors, you will own your own business. You are not working for someone else, which is a nice bonus, but it can be a downfall to many. There are extra expenses that you personally need to take on. You need to keep yourself motivated to do a good job on a daily basis.

If you believe you can handle these simple things in internet marketing, then you can start your search for a company to work with. There are many. It will take you a good amount of time to decide which one is right for you. Do you want to sell products? Do you know enough to sell software? Can you see yourself promoting your business online, over the phone, in your neighborhood, and to your family and friends? Look into the business's history. Do they have a long background with a proven track record? If it's a ground floor opportunity, can you trust and believe in it enough to make it successful? Is the business a member of the Better Business Bureau? What about others who have done the business, what do they have to say? Will they provide training, materials, or anything else that is needed?

Once you combine all of this information, it is only then that you can and should decide on an Internet marketing company. While there are definitely advantages to working an internet marketing business from home, never kid yourself that it won't be hard work all the way. But, by doing this basic amount of research and gathering this information, you can trust that the internet marketing business you take on is the right one for you.

Perseverance Pays

Writen by Rachelle West

I don't know which programs you've tried or what types of marketing tactics you've used and it doesn't really matter. Because it all comes down to one thing: perseverance.

You can make money in just about any program if you stick with it. And most of the so-called "scams" out there are not. People just call them scams because they failed.

So how do you succeed in these programs?

It's all about the marketing. The only thing you have to do is get people to the site you are marketing. And that's where most people give up... That's where the truth hits them over the head and they start to get discouraged. Because the truth is...

It takes either TIME or MONEY to generate traffic (or both). And nobody wants to risk the money and most people are too lazy to work. That's why 90% of affiliates fail!

If you expect to make money overnight, it's not going to happen. But once you learn how to generate traffic, the world will change for you. Because you can then direct that traffic anywhere you want and create multiple streams of income.

But you have to make it happen. I can't give you some magical ad and secret ezine to place it in because everyone and their dog would do the same. You have to get out and spread the word all over the Internet. You can place ezine ads for under $10. And there's lot's of places you can advertise for free.

Remember the 3 Keys to Success:
1. Take Action
2. Stay Focused
3. Make Informed Decisions

This may not be exactly what you wanted to hear, but it's the truth. If you quit program after program, why would you expect to succeed in any program?

I Dont Smoke But I Love A Good Sig

Writen by Jonathan Van Clute

.sig, or "Dot Sig" as it's affectionately known, stands for "Signature File" and is the text and (usually) other contact information placed at the bottom of email or other computer-based correspondence. It is traditionally used for things like phone numbers, alternate email addresses, mailing addresses, web site addresses, etc. However the real truth is, it can contain anything the author wishes to include. It is like having your very own piece of legitimate, non-intrusive, socially acceptable, 100% SPAM-free advertising space on every piece of email you send or posting you ever make!

Think about that a moment. Really think about it. Do you have a .sig on your emails? Have you ever noticed other people's signatures? Have you ever clicked their links out of curiosity? Have you ever noticed that the links can have absolutely nothing to do with the topic being discussed, and yet it is still considered acceptable to use this space for what amounts to advertising much of the time?

Have you ever stopped to think about how many eyes could potentially be reading your online postings for years to come? Or how far an email you type could go if it is forwarded a few times to various groups of people you don't even know? You may not realize this, but many online forums, Yahoo Groups, etc. are publicly readable; you only must be a member in order to post something to the group. But since anyone, including bots, can read the messages, they are some of the most widely "spidered" content on the internet (see sidebar). This means that your comments or postings could potentially be read by millions of people beyond the one, two, or ten people you intended it for. What would you pay for that kind of targeted advertising? Make sure your .sig is ready!

[SIDEBAR]
Googlebot - Your Friend on the WWW
Googlebot is Google's web-crawling robot. It collects documents from the web to build a searchable index for the Google search engine. This automated process is commonly called "spidering" because these (ro)bots crawl the web in their search for information. The key is that they love text. Google tends to rank sites with lots of text content very high - especially discussion forums! Because of this, your online forum remarks can live almost indefinitely, and may be seen by people years from now. This means any .sig you include at the bottom of your post will be nearly eternal free focused advertising.
[/SIDEBAR]

So, what is the proper protocol for creating a .sig? The internet standard is to place two hyphens (dashes) at the bottom of your email, and on the next line begin your sig. For example, mine looks like this at the moment:

--
|----------------------------------------------------
|ARBITRAGE == Risk Free Trades, Profit Up Front!
|Why gamble, when you can win every time!
|www.ArbitrageBusiness.Info - For Business Builders
|www.SportsArbitrage.Info - For Pure Traders
|www.PMLinvestments.com - For All Investors
|----------------------------------------------------

Notice I said that this is what my .sig looks like at the moment. Your signature is a dynamic thing, and you are free to change it at any time. In fact, you don't even have to have a standard one. Though most email programs have a place for you to put in automatic signatures, you can also simply type two hyphens, hit return, and type whatever you wish to be your signature on that particular email or posting. Think of the possibilities, be creative! Play with formatting and layout, don't be afraid to create simple shapes & boxes as I did above. Beware however that formatting doesn't always survive in emails, especially in html format, so you will want to experiment with sending yourself emails a few times while you get it "just right."

As long as you follow the protocol of two hyphens followed by your content, and place this at the bottom of your email, this is a universally acceptable method of self-promotion. The absolutely most critical component is, that your actual communication whether it be email or a forum posting must be on-topic!

This means you can't just post a message saying "I agree!" followed by your signature, on a dozen forums and not expect to be criticized for it. So make sure whatever you have to say is relevant to the topic at hand, and then be sure to include your .sig at the conclusion of your writing.

I believe that too many investors, business people, artists, and more do not take advantage of this amazingly powerful method of nearly-viral marketing. The major players in web-based email have known about the power of this for years! HotMail for example was a success primarily because of this technique! Back when they first started, their only form of advertising was by putting a small message about themselves at the bottom of every email each HotMail user sent. This meant that, whether they wanted to or not, every recipient of a HotMail user's email was exposed to a HotMail ad with a link to sign up. Because of this, HotMail was my first web-based email account back around 1998. Today, I don't know of any major web-mail provider that does not include a link to themselves in each user's email messages. This technique works; people do click those links!

In closing, I'd like to make a confession. I myself only created my .sig very recently. Though intellectually I knew all these facts and benefits to be true, I just didn't take the necessary action! Now that I have done so, I have received many more website visitors, and participants in some of my business ventures, because they saw my signature and decided to click. Creating this signature was such a little thing, why on earth did I wait so long to do it?!

Don't wait – take action now. Needless to say, this advice extends far beyond just creating a good .sig!

The Best Kept Internet Marketing Secret

Writen by Duane Marx

Do you want to save up to 10 years of internet frustration and thousands of dollars in advertising & testing? You're about to find out an amazing secret that the gurus don't want you to know about. Now at first you may think this isn't a big deal, but I'll explain why this is so powerful in a moment.

The amazing secret is simply this: 'Copy The Experts, Mimic The Gurus.' Find the Gurus in your related business and do what they're doing. Especially look at their websites/sales pages and make yours very similar.

Now let me say this right now - I am not telling you to steal their words or images that would be illegal.

What I am saying is study their sales letters and pay close attention to how they use: size of text, color, font, bold, italic, word spacing, paragraph spacing, length of paragraphs, use of color, background color, keywords and phrases, titles, headlines, and sub headlines just to name a few.

If you want to spy on him right now just to see what he's doing visit: Why should you do this? Because it is working for them. Their webpage/sales letters are the final results of years of trial and error, and thousands of dollars spent on advertising and testing.

One of my favorite internet marketing gurus to learn from is John Reese. He's been studying and improving internet marketing since 1990 and has had over a billion website visitors. He's always testing everything he does. Why? Because this is how you find out what really works and what will produce the best results - and ultimately brings in the most money.

He made over a million dollars in one day on the internet. Do you think we could to learn a thing or two from him? You bet we can! What if our salepage looked a lot like his? How much would our sales increase?

By studying his style and technique you should be able to learn a lot in a very short time. Save a copy of his site to your desktop for future reference. And if your guru has a coffee stain in the upper right hand corner of his sales letter then make sure you have one on yours too. It was put there for a reason - to make money.

Also this is just a starting point. After you have revised your own sales letter then start testing other things to improve it even more.

Remember by using this one simple idea you will save yourself a tremendous amount of time and money, and it can take you from a novice to looking like the pros almost overnight.

Whats Your Ad Doing For You

Writen by Theresa Cahill

Do you know what your ezine ad needs to do for you? Forget the idea of "make the sale" because that's NOT it at all!

Often times I believe we make the mistake of expecting too much from our ad. Granted, it must be written well to attract the reader's interest. Yes, the headline is vital, avoiding excessive use of capital letters and exclamation marks is crucial, having a decent program is paramount!

But your ad should NOT be expected to do the selling for you!

Any type of ezine AD is a "lead generator."

Your SALES LETTER (website or email) handles the job of making the actual sale.

If you're one of those wondering why your ezine ad isn't making you cash, then read the above again.

Ads do not sell - not in the traditional sense of the word "sale."

Ads are designed to either get the person to your wonderful sales letter (website) or to entice them to specifically request additional information from you via your autoresponder or personal email.

Again, your ezine ad generates LEADS.

If your ad has been letting you down lately, then ponder the above.

Assuming your ad is truly awe-inspiring and attracts the attention and interest of the reader, and it gets them (in this example) to your website, THEN you've got a shot at making the sale.

However, don't stop there!

If your website doesn't have the means to COLLECT names and emails - to be the backup system in support of your ad, to CAPTURE THE LEAD - then rethink your sales page.

Again, your sales letter (website) is responsible for closing the sale.

But, if all else fails, before they leave offer them the means to put themselves on your follow-up mailing system. The easiest way to do this is to offer something for FREE, a report, an ebook, a sweepstakes entry, etc.

Maybe they're fence sitters. Maybe it will take another visit (or 20) before they make that vital decision to purchase or sign up.

There's tons of offers out there, and you need to be able to keep yours in the mind of your potential buyer. Without a follow-up system in place, you've allowed that LEAD to slip through your fingers.

So, think "lead-generating ad" the next time you write up a new one or submit your standard fare. If need be, throw it away and start again.

Remember ezine ads generate leads, and sales letters do the selling.

Handle both aspects to your marketing and advertising correctly, and you're bound to see positive change.

Too Many Quotinternet Marketingquot Experts

Writen by Chris Taylor

Do you follow any type of sport?

Even if you don't, you may or may not know that all great athletes and teams have a coach.

If it is an individual they usually have a single coach, if a team they have a coach and an assistant coach.

So what has this got to do with building a business?

How many marketing experts are their online? How many books do you have by a whole stack of different authors? On top of that how many articles by different writers can you ad to this list?

If a football or soccer team had five to ten coaches do you think they would be very successful? The poor players would be so confused by all the different opinions, varying tactics on playing the game and exactly how to win that they would probably never win one single game!

Are you starting to see my point?

Every expert online uses there own individual techniques, systems and types of websites to make profit. One expert might use one web traffic method one way while another uses it completely different.

This then is where the problem lies. If you keep jumping from one piece of advice to the next, to the next and then once again to the next, how successful do you think your online business will be?

So decide on one or two experts and follow their advice to the letter. This will save you a lot of time and money, I can assure you.

The marketers I personally like and follow are (apart from myself ;-))

Michael Campbell – SEO and affiliate marketing.

Michael Green – Ebook production and marketing.

Jay Abraham – Online & off business marketing, business development & creation.

As you can see, I've separated authors into different categories or fields depending the project I'm working on at the time, I will follow the advice from just one.

Now if these people or even my own advice is not you "cup of tea" so to speak, the advice still stands. Find a marketer that has material that you like or writes in such a way that you can relate to and follow their advice to the letter. Don't stray form their advice, don't finish implementing techniques half way through the course and be consistent in your approach.

Are You An Internet Marketer Wannabe

Writen by John Woon

Are you one of the many thousands of Internet marketer wannabes who have decided to become the next batch of Internet Millionaires?

You have read that about 600 million people have access to the Internet - and yet it is still in its infancy. Every month millions of newcomers and thousands of businesses are reported to be setting up online.

With this huge and expanding audience coupled with the fact that marketing and advertising can be done on the Internet so easily and at only a fraction of the costs of traditional methods, we now have a fantastic opportunity to be successful in online business.

Many companies have now aligned themselves with the Internet which has created many new paradigms in the past few years. Residual Incomes are made available to people from all walks of life. You can now make money online with simple and proven formula used by many to earn multiple streams of residual income.

However please beware of the hurdles ahead because it is not as easy as it seems. It takes a lot of hard work and some financial investment. The following is a short list of some of the things you should be aware of:

1.Decide What You Want To Sell

1.1. Selling Products

When you sell a product you can either carry out the whole operation of manufacturing or creating the products, handling orders, stocking and inventory management, shipping the goods, and processing the payments OR you could simply join some affiliate programs and market for companies that will handle all the administration for you.

Your job is therefore merely to get the orders to the companies and receive commission as a result of your effort. The question we should ask ourselves is "What products should we sell?"

We should all know that the item that has been recognized as the number one business product of the future is "information". Examples of highly successful information products are the 'how-to' and "self-improvement" e-books which tell the readers how to solve certain problems.

If you are knowledgeable about a particular subject you could consider writing and developing your own products and delivering it via the many channels opened to you such as websites, newsletters, ezines and emails.

1.2. Selling Services

One advantage of selling a service is that you can often generate a 'residual' income. It is possible to have a monthly passive income as long as the existing customers continue to use your service. But we should ask again "What types of service are suitable for online selling?"

As the Internet boom continues the most obvious possibility is any service which could help companies in using the Internet in their business. An excellent example is a web hosting service whereby the host will provide the space to put up websites of others with the necessary tools to manage it while providing technical advice and service to their clients.

2. A Comprehensive Business Plan

Don't start until you have made a plan that includes what the markets are, what products and services you're selling to these markets, how to acquire these products (and services), how you will market and sell them and how to get the money to pay for all these things. Like any other forms of work, you must have a plan for your Internet business. Set an achievable short term, medium term and long term objectives, prepare a budget and stick to them as far as possible. Carry out periodical checking to determine any deviations from the plan and take the necessary remedial actions.

3. An E-Commerce Program

You must have the capability to accept orders, arrange for payment, preferably by credit card, and ship the product. Otherwise you should do as many successful Internet entrepreneurs do, that is, joining good affiliate programs where you need not worry about processing of orders, collection of payment, packing and shipping of the products as these would be taken care of by the merchants i.e. the affiliate program owners.

4. Well Written Sales Copy

The content of your website should have attractive and hard hitting selling materials to persuade your prospects to buy from you while maintaining and keeping the existing customers. Copywriting requires some skill. If you can't do it yourself you will have to hire professional copywriters to do it for you for a fee.

5. Patience and Perseverance

Building a successful business on the Internet takes not only a lot of effort and time, it also requires some financial input on your part especially for acquiring the necessary knowledge and to advertise your business. Don't be trapped by the "overnight miracle" and "become-an- instant-millionaire" hype and stories.

You'd be tempted with countless of seemingly very attractive offers and promises from the Web to help improve your business. Many of these would lead you to disappointment and frustration. You should persevere and re-invest your early profits back into the business.

6. Get Your List As Soon As Possible

In Internet marketing, always remember three very important words. They're…LIST, LIST and LIST. Also, do not forget the popular Internet adage, "The Gold is in your LIST!" This means that a big chunk of your time, effort and concentration should be directed to getting the right strategy to drive traffic to your site. Advertising is therefore of utmost importance.

7. Be Disciplined

Although this is a home based business with all the freedom in the world, it's prudent to have some form of discipline. Once you've decided to sit in front of the computer to start working online, you must stay focused and do not allow any distraction to affect your concentration. Treat it as your business and not a hobby. It'd be nice to stick to a schedule which is also made known to other members of your family so that they'd know when to leave you alone. However do not get carried away and spend too much time in front of your PC because your loved ones, including your pets also deserve your attention and time.

8. Stay away from the temptation to spam.

Do not ever try to spam i.e. sending unsolicited e-mails to unexpected recipients under any circumstances. I get very annoyed when I find chunks of unwanted e-mails plugging my mailbox resulting in the e-mails from my friends and business associates being "lost" in the midst of these junks mails. The frustrating process of deleting them is enough to drive me through the roof! If you insisted on "spamming", you'd very likely have your name and registration terminated. It is therefore not worth the while because eventually your business would suffer.

9. Know how to place your advert

There are many locations where you can place an Ad such as newsgroups, forums, ezines, websites some of which you have to pay for while some are totally free of charge. It is possible to post your Ad to a mailing list, newsgroups, and also discussion forums using a signature file to promote your products.
