Financial Freedom Through Integrity And Honesty

Writen by Erwin Tjong

Starting down the road to owning your own business can be exciting, frightening and challenging. It takes a lot of courage to leave behind the promise of a steady paycheck and strike out on your own. One of the keys to long term financial freedom and consistent, steady passive income is running your business with the highest standards of integrity.

You may be surprised to hear that integrity and honesty still matter in the business world today. It seems sometimes that business ethics and integrity are the exception rather than the rule. However, treating customers and employees with dignity and respect is an absolutely vital part of achieving your goal of financial freedom. Without integrity, there is no financial freedom. Any passive income gained through duplicity and dishonesty will be fleeting, and the damage to your reputation and that of your business will quickly erase any short-term gains.

In the end, it is the honest businessperson who prospers. We've all heard the horror stories about the sellers in online auctions who rack up tens of thousands of dollars in sales then disappear without delivering the goods to their buyers. These types of stories make headlines, and play on our fears of being taken for a ride. However, you may not hear the less glamorous stories of honest sellers at those same auction houses. The mom and pop shops who have opened their virtual doors and made a great living by delivering quality products and services, not just today but for years to come. These are the types of business people who survive, prosper and achieve the financial freedom they so richly deserve.

As you strike out on the road to financial freedom, remember that generating long term passive income requires that you be honest and focused on your customers. Remember that no matter what, the customer is in charge. If you focus like a laser on serving the needs of your customers, your passive income stream will grow into a raging river, and you will achieve your goal of financial freedom more quickly than you ever imagined.

How Not To Start Out Like Me

Writen by Chris Angione

My Internet Business Horror Show - After three nightmarish years, it's finally turning it around.

Premise:

I had been trying to make some extra money on the internet and eventually turn it into a full time income, quit my job and have the financial security to spend more time with my family. Sounds great doesn't it?

But what I didn't know is the length and breath of the complexities involved in creating and marketing anything successfully on the net.

I had no idea that the internet, while it is fantastic for gathering and dispersing information, is also this ravenous mythological beast inserted into our real lives that will smile at you with a movie star grin and chew your face off with one of its million sets of jaws. I'm not trying to cause anyone to pitch their computer in the trash as a security measure. I just think that many of us need a wakeup call. Hopefully not one the likes of which I had received.

I had hit veritable financial ruin because I was ignorant, careless and uninformed. I was ripe for any immoral and dishonest sole to fleece me of all I was worth. And that's exactly what they did.

Idiot:

P.T. Barnum once said, "There's a sucker born every minute". I am (by my record of events) one of those suckers. I am a salesperson's erotic dream. If there was an infomercial on the TV, I'd buy it. If there was a flashy car ad, I'd buy it. If there was a slick display in the store, I'd buy it. Product on an internet site, Email ad, radio ad, Yes, Yes, and Yes, I'd find a way to buy those too!

My Humiliating track record:

After rewriting this paragraph numerous times and nearly pitching my computer into a compactor in a fit of rage, and then nearly shorting out my keyboard in a sea of tears from depression, I decided on one sobering, and painfully embarrassing statement, but a statement of fact none the same.

Over the last three years I have been milked for money in the neighborhood of $150 thousand dollars, through numerous internet programs, investment scams, and careless purchases. This is not a joke, this is my reality. And my reason to find what works and figure out how to get the job done.

Turning things around:

I refinanced my house in order to stay in it a little longer, and I toured the car dealerships and traded my big flashy truck for something I could sustain without repossession. I have stopped using credit for every purchase and I have reinsulated my home to save on utility bills.

Through it all, however, I have not given up my dream of making my income on the net. I was either too stupid to stop or too determined to quit. As the famous coach Vince Lombardi once said, "It doesn't matter how often you get knocked down; what matters is how often you get back up."

Anyway, Now I am not so ignorant, or so foolish or full of myself anymore, and it is paying off. I am MAKING MONEY ON THE NET. I had no other choice, to be honest. I am at the top of the pay scale for my profession, my wife can't log anymore hours into her job, and my children are too young to work, thou that was a momentary thought during a deluded rampage while contemplating impending poverty.

How I am doing it:

I began to use the net, really use it for what it is designed for: INFORMATION and EDUCATION. I actually hopped of my high horse of thinking I was so intelligent that I can do it myself without expert help, which was what landed me in the state of searching to gaps in my seats to buy gas just to get home.

I began to READ, not the flash presentations, but the news articles and business columns. I started to take ADVICE from marketing experts, and began to try out SOLID COMPANIES with SOLID MISSION STATEMENTS.

Integrity:

To preserve my own sense of personal integrity I needed to find a suitable product to market, a product I could BELIEVE IN, but also a product that WORKED. I soon found a product that sounded great, yes like all the others I lost money on. But this time I researched to company, the news about the company, statements of the testimonials and sponsors, and the structure of the opportunity associated with it. I gathered enough information that I felt comfortable enough to give it a try: But, being now so cynical, I intended to disprove this product and move on.

Now I'm happy to report that I am a firm user of this product and a distributor of the same. I can say in all honesty that behind the hype, and I know this sounds corny; it has LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE. (This is not where the sales pitch is inserted, that is not the reason for me writing this. I'm not even going to tell you what this product is here.)

Making money:

I am now making money selling on the net with the assistance of:

Informational NEWSLETTERS
RSS FEEDS
EMAIL MARKETING
WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT
INTERNET MARKETING SEMINARS
MARKETING SOFTWARE
LEAD GENERATION techniques and services

None of which I knew existed until not too long ago. These I elude to are the ones that I personally use; they work and I have based my business on the results they give me.

There is one bit of common sense commentary that I will never forget. It is a simple idea that has changed my paradigm of thinking. The great Perry Marshall once said, "Nobody who bought a drill actually wanted a drill. They wanted a hole. Therefore, if you want to sell drills, you should advertise information about making holes - NOT information about drills!"

My take on this is the idea that if we can share information about how to make a hole without going broke then maybe we can compete with the get-rich-quick scammers that overpopulate the web and empty our wallets.

Christopher is an independent internet marketer who has admittedly made all the classic and not so classic mistakes. He has a range of writing credits from trade journal articles, to advertisements for major financial institutions, and all the way to fiction and poetry of all things. Top 5 Tips For Marketing Your Real Products In Our Virtual World

Writen by Kim Bloomer

It can be a challenge to market real/tangible products in the virtual world. And, it's certainly much different than marketing services or virtual products. We have put together a quick tip list that every tangible product based business needs to consider when selling in a virtual market.

Image is Everything

You've heard it said – image is everything. And, it is. However, for product based business owners, that "image" is influenced by the images. That's right – the product images that you have on your website! Just like brick and mortar business, you must put your products in the best possible light. How do you do that? Consider our brick and mortarcounterparts.

1. Staging – every product in a retail brick and mortar store is carefully placed. The "stage" is set. There may be suggested accessories strategically placed near the product itself, or there may be "decorative" elements – such as when a home décor company exhibits a vase with flowers inside. We all know that the flowers don't (usually) come with the vase. But, it puts you, as the consumer, in the right frame of mind. Even in jewelry stores, you will see this example – there are small flowers, loose gemstones and more in the velvet-lined cases. That is another example of setting the stage; making the entire image a "feast for the eyes" will do wonders for your sales.

2. Make it crisp and sharp. Clear, sharp images on a website are a must. It's better to not have an image at all than to have one that is fuzzy, blurry, under lit, or over exposed. Remember, your product images are meant to entice your potential customers. And, if they aren't clear, your potential customers can just as easily find another virtual store that has clear pictures.

Sweat the Small Stuff

Unlike virtual products, such as e-books or software, or services such as virtual assisting, web design, or computer programming, you must creatively include every single detail that the customer may notice in the real world in the description of your product in the virtual marketplace. Even if you think that it's obvious.

Let us give you an example. Dee has silver and gold jewelry on her website. Months ago, there was a customer who ordered, but, when she received her product, she realized that the product had 14 KT gold accents (rather than silver accents – which is what she wanted). The picture was (in Dee's opinion) clear enough to show 14 KT gold accents – so she didn't include it in the description. But, it wasn't clear to the customer. Even if you aren't in doubt, include the details (even the obvious ones)! Your customers will thank you for it.

That "small stuff" can make or break your product based business in the virtual marketplace! Don't leave anything to chance or to the customer's interpretation. Graphically and creatively describe each of your products – down to the minutest detail.

Time Is On Your Side

In the virtual marketplace, just like in a brick and mortar store, you must make time for your customers – take time for your customers. Unlike some service and virtual product based businesses, the time you take with each of your customers can make or break a sale. For example, with Kim's therapeutic grade essential oils, she must spend time with her customers showing them how to apply the oils, with, for example, the raindrop technique. Unfortunately, in the virtual marketplace, this isn't possible as a one-on-one activity. However, she does take the time with people to share the various ways the can bring wellness to their pets and their own lives with her products, in conjunction with a complete life change for them. That is a time consuming task. However, in the end, both Kim's customers and her business benefit 100 fold from the time that she spent.

Simply put, you cannot afford to not spend time with your customers.

Similar to our service based business owner counterparts, time is a valuable commodity. We must take time, though, to build relationships with our customers and potential customers. While an individual customer may not need your products today, a well developed relationship with a potential customer (in the form of giving them time well spent) will keep your business name in their memory for when the occasion arises that they do need your product.

Virtual Reality

Both Kim and Dee have products that appeal to the senses. Dee's expertly handcrafted, delicate fine jewelry and masterfully created leather journals are a feast for the senses. In person, a customer can touch the ultra polished, extra smooth silver, allowing their eyes to enjoy the shine and glimmer of the bling bling, that is a piece of fine jewelry, or take in the wonderful warm smell of leather, while appreciating the feel of the grain with their hands, the beauty of the hand binding with their eyes. In the same way, Kim can merely open a bottle of oil and her customers can bask in the aroma, the feel, the quality, while listening to Kim explain the benefits of that particular oil – a total feast for the senses.

In the virtual world, we must constructively adapt to be able to give our customers that feast of the senses. While the technology isn't there for "scratch-n-sniff" websites, there are technologies that you can offer – on top of a description that beautiful portrays the customer's experience with that product.

1. Audio – you can add audio to your website, describing your products, leading your customers on a virtual tour of your store, or simply giving your customers a "taste" of your products via customer testimonials. One caveat here, though, only use audio that is relevant to your business. "Cutesy" music that begins as soon as someone pops into your web store will have most customers leaving faster than they stepped in.

2. Video – You can give product demonstrations, 360-degree product views, or create a video of you expertly creating that product. The point of video is to bring your customers in, and get them involved with you and your products. The video should enhance the product images you have (not replace them!), and should add to your customer experience, rather than distracting them.

Show me the Money!

So, you have perfect product images, creative, professionally written product descriptions, you are prepared to spend time with your customers, and you are making use of audio and video to appeal to their senses. But, you still aren't making a profit. What's happening?

One of the biggest challenges a tangible product based business owner faces is pricing concerns. Like your service business counterparts, you must put a price on your time – particularly if you are creating a product to sell. You also must consider "overhead" (storage space, utilities, employees, etc), just like your service business counterparts. But, you also must consider things like the cost of shipping & shipping supplies, and the cost of your product or raw materials. This seems like it should be common sense. However, the death of many product businesses has been due to grossly underestimating the actual cost of products.

You must account for every single piece of material that you put into your product, and price accordingly. There are some popular mark up plans available online, however, to use those most effectively, you must actually sit down and figure your exact cost. Otherwise, you run the risk of underestimating your costs, and therefore under charging for your products.

As real product based business owners in the virtual world, both of us understand that there are many hurdles to leap over, and often times, different hurdles than our service based business counterparts. However, both of us strongly believe that, even in the virtual marketplace, a real product business can thrive – exceeding the growth and profitability of product business in brick and mortar stores. It simply begins by marketing your real product in the virtual marketplace with the above 5 tips in mind.

Internet Marketing Help

Writen by Jack Elmy

If you're looking for Internet marketing help you've come to the right place. Below you will find several tips to help you navigate your way through the mystifying world of promoting your website and e-commerce business.

Internet Marketing Help Hint #1: Surveys: To find out what your customer thinks of your site try using a survey. A little constructive criticism can go a long way in helping you build a quality site that people are eager to visit and refer others to visit. There are very few other ways to find out what your customer really thinks, wants and needs besides a survey. If you're concerned that people won't take the time to complete a survey you can always entice them with something for free in exchange for completing the survey or even adding their name to a pool for a giveaway.

Internet Marketing Help Hint #2: Guestbook: Members of your target audience that are skeptical by nature want some reassurance that you're who you say you are and that your product or service really delivers. Adding a guestbook to your site can help to reassure your customer by providing comments from others who visited your site, found something useful and were satisfied. If you are concerned that you might end up with rude or vulgar comments that hurt your reputation more than help, it is very easy to add a guestbook that allows you to preview any comments before they are posted. With this type of guestbook you have the control over whether to delete a comment or allow it to be inserted on your site. One bad apple doesn't have to spoil the basket.

Internet Marketing Help Hint #3: Coupons: There is a significant portion of your target audience that are coupon clippers. No matter who they are, you can bet some of them can't wait to get the newspaper and start clipping away. While this ploy won't work for everyone, there are some people who can't resist the lure of a bargain; saving a percentage off the regular price of a product or service. They will be more than happy to visit your site once a week to find out how much money they can save with the coupons you offer. If you're concerned about taking a piece out of your profit try combining offers. Two for one or 10% with a minimum purchase gives you the flexibility of still offering a valuable coupon to the customer while making sure your profits don't take a dip.

Making Money Online Without Even Breaking A Sweat

Writen by Hector Milla

OK I lied, there is no way, anyone can make money just by loafing around. Even if there are many websites and emails that claim that is true. Hey, at least I'm being honest. But about the part in making money online, now that's true. Many success stories can attest that there are legit steps to be taken in the Internet to make money online.

So our main concern is, where is all this money coming from?

Simple, its from advertising. So many companies have learned and appreciated doing business online and traditional marketing and advertising has taken the next step.

Websites that have large traffic and have a semblance to a website can make use of the site to promote their products. So if you have a compilation of great pictures, videos and stories about a certain niche, you can use this to attract people to go in your website and eventually have them click on your sponsored sites.

As each sponsor site gets a click or does a successful sale, you can be half-expecting for a paycheck to come.

So basically, you wouldn't be breaking a sweat. All you have to do is build a site where people can enjoy browsing to. This traffic can be redirected to an affiliate site and get commissions on their sale.

Making money online doesn't have to mean you have to bare your body. With the right amount of promotions and a catching promotional slogan and brochure, you can capture the interest of your consumers and actually have a sale. So don't just rely on your laurels, you can make money online.

As a supplementary to your income or as a sideline letting you save up or by the things you need.

Style 2 - Polish Your Hair with a Bright Color.

Color your hair with a bright color. You could color it pink, blue, purple, green, etc. You could even make it match your web site's colors.

Draw lines on your picture. You could draw a black eye or mustache on it before you scan and upload it to your web site. This will give it a unique presence.

Style 4 - Wear Glasses.

Put on silly glasses. You could put on spring like glasses, oversized colorful glasses, spinning glasses, or even 3D glasses. Make yourself memorable.

Style 8 - Paint your face.

You could paint your own unique character or paint a typical character like a clown, joker, animal, plant, etc.

Style 9 - Put On a Mask.

Wear a mask. You could buy one or make one out of a paper bag. Just cut the nose, mouth and eyes out. You could also add other facial features.

Style 10 - Attract Attention with Background.

Marketing Your Web Site

Writen by Lynn Holter

Congratulations! Your Web Site is finished! Now what? Your first instinct is to submit to every search engine possible and leave it up to them to bring traffic to your site. Despite what you may have been told, it doesn't happen quite that way. Yes, you will need to submit to the search engines, and they will eventually bring traffic your site. It will take anywhere from 3 – 6 months for a search engine to even get you listed. After that another year or so to make it to the top of the listings, that is, if you are extremely diligent in promoting to them monthly and following all the different rules for each search engine.

There are several ways to market your web site yourself. Your marketing efforts will yield more results than any other form of marketing.

Include your URL on the following…

  • Business Cards – I cannot stress enough the importance of putting your URL on your business cards!

  • Letterhead – also on envelopes.

  • Anything your company uses such as statements, invoices, order forms, etc.

  • Anything that your company publishes or advertises.

  • Anything your company prints and sends out to people such as fax cover sheets.

  • Include a plug with your Phone Message Service like: "visit our web site at yourwebsite.com."

  • Window stickers and Bumper stickers.

Basically put your web site address on anything you would put your company name on.

Check your Chamber of Commerce. Find out if they have a web site you can add your URL to. Find out if your town has a Visitors Information center. Find out if you can list your business with them. Also find out if you can leave brochures or business cards at the center for people to browse when they visit.

Include your web site URL in your email signature. This way your site URL is being sent to everyone who receives an email from you or anyone in your company.

Keep the lines of communication open with your web designer. Remember it will take a joint effort to make your web site successful. Be willing to provide information your designer will need in the creation of your site.

Google Adsense Optimization Tips

Writen by Michael Cheney

When you login to Google through the AdSense login you can get to a page that contains a series of optimization tips. Although this is a useful page, it can take awhile to read through. So let me present you with a no nonsense quick overview of these tips.

The first thing that Google recommends is that you keep track of all changes and test the performance of your ads using channels. You can set up a number of channels using the Google statistics. This enables you to track the performance of, for example, different ad formats, different ad colors, different ad sizes and even different pages.

You can create channels that are specific to an ad format or you can create a channel that is specific to a page on your website. You definitely need to create channels because it is one of the best ways to continually tweak and improve your AdSense performance and boost your AdSense earnings.

Next it talks about where you should place ads on your pages and it includes what is called a heat map, showing you the hot spots on an average website. In general, it's common sense if you place ads towards the center or upper regions of a page as you're likely to get a better response. Placing ads on the right hand side, at the top right hand side or at the very bottom of a page leads to very low response rates.

Your best bet, in terms of getting the most click-throughs, is to try and make the ads become part of the content. Place the ads right in the middle of the content or place your content around the ads. Also, if you use ads that blend in with your site you'll get a far better click-through rate.

It then talks about using multiple ad units and whether or not you can do this effectively. My experience is that pages for forums, for example, perform particularly badly. I've yet to find a way to use AdSense on a forum and generate a significant amount of revenue without first annoying all of the forum's users.

Obviously, one of the biggest questions you need to ask yourself as an AdSense webmaster is which ad format to use. Google gives you a massive selection from skyscraper-sized ads to standard banner-sized ads and really it will come down to testing. The more you can test and the more you can judge by the results, the better your conversion ratio and click through ratio will be.

You may also want to experiment with link units. As opposed to straight-forward ads, link units contain a series of links through to further pages of actual ads. So for example, people may click on a link unit that says 'click here for ads about shopping'. You only get paid, not if people click on the first link, but if they click a second time on an actual website. Again, I've tried these and not found them to be amazingly successful. But I haven't tested them extensively; you will need to do that.

The best way to get immediate access to all the test information, without having to go down the painful road yourself, is to watch the AdSense videos that I've created (see below).

Maximizing Your Internet Marketing Strategies

Writen by Shelley Lowery

Developing a successful Internet marketing strategy is the key to your online success. Your strategy not only involves your marketing and promotional efforts, but your web site will also play an important role.

You must develop and implement both short-term and long-term marketing strategies to bring a continuous flow of targeted traffic to your web site.

Developing a powerful strategy is a very important part of your success. However, unless your web site is specifically designed to sell, your efforts will be useless. You must look at the entire picture before you begin.

Short term marketing strategies are those that bring you a temporary boost in traffic. Although these techniques are very important to your over-all plan, they are only a temporary traffic source and must not be solely relied upon.

Short-term marketing strategies include:

Purchasing Advertising

This form of short-term marketing includes ezine advertising, banner advertising and classified ads. Although it is important to occasionally purchase advertising, it is short-term and will produce short-term results.

Bulletin Boards

Although sharing your expertise at popular bulletin boards can provide you with a boost in traffic, it is a temporary boost. It will not continue to produce results. Most boards only display a certain number of posts and the rest are archived.

Search Engines

Obtaining a high ranking in the Search Engines is a never-ending battle. You may have a top ten ranking one day and the next day your site may disappear. It is very important to submit your web site to the Search Engines, but trying to keep a top ten ranking is very time consuming -- your efforts may be better spent on more effective marketing techniques.

In order to create a steady stream of targeted traffic to your web site, you must also market for the future. Long-term marketing techniques are those that will continue to produce results even years down the road.

So what are some of these long-term powerful techniques? Here's a few to get you started:

Opt-in lists

Ask for your visitor's name and email address. In return, provide them with a valuable publication, a free course or some other valuable information. By continuously building your opt-in lists, you're creating a long-term database of potential customers.

Freebies

Give away something of value engraved with your name, business, product or service. Your freebie might be software you've created, a free ebook, or even a free course. The key to creating a long-term marketing freebie is to allow it to be freely distributed. If your freebie is good, it will quickly saturate the Internet and continue to circulate eternally.

Content

Provide the Internet community with free content. Content comes in a variety of forms such as articles, tutorials, tips, reports or whatever you'd like. Allow your content to be freely published in ezines and web sites. Content is a highly sought after commodity and can provide you with a great deal of free exposure for years to come.

A solid Internet marketing plan will include everything from your ad to your thank you and follow-up letters. Each process in your plan must perform a specific task.

1. Your short-term marketing strategies will drive traffic to your web site in intervals. Each time you place an ad, your traffic will increase. After a few days, your traffic will drop off.

2. Your long-term marketing strategies will drive a steady stream of traffic to your web site. Your traffic will continue to increase over time.

3. Your ad must draw your potential customer's attention and create curiosity. It must lead them to click through to your web site.

4. Your web site will then take over and provide further information, while leading your potential customer to your order page.

5. Your order page will be packed with all of the benefits your product has to offer and call for action.

6. Your marketing plan will continue to be implemented by closing the sale with a thank you letter.

7. Your final step will be to send follow-up messages in the future to provide good customer service and introduce new products.

A marketing plan is an absolute must. If you have no direction, you'll travel in circles and ultimately never reach your goals. Plan your work then work your plan. You may be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

Internet Marketing Man You Can Knock 10 Years Off The Learning Curve

Writen by Linda Caroll

20 years ago, if you weren't born rich the best way to get rich was to become (or marry) a doctor or lawyer. That's where the money was.

Fast forward to 2005. In the last 20 years, there has been a 75% turnover rate on the Forbes list. Internet millionaires like Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Steve Ballmer, Sergey Brin, Larry Page, Jerry Yang, David Filo, Pierre Omidyar, and more, are knocking the traditionally wealthy off the charts.

The Internet has created more millionaires, and more wealth, than any other technological change in history.

So Why Are So Many Failing?

Despite the vast global opportunity the Internet offers, most people are still failing at their online efforts. Why?

Because here's a mindset, online, that you can shortcut your way to success. You don't need to know how to build a website. Or write copy. Or find traffic. That you don't need to pay someone to do those things for you, either. Just buy a push button solution or the secrets to success or a drag and drop website builder, or promote an affiliate code and it's a no brainer.

Why does that mindset exist? Because of the vast number of profiteers promoting the notion that they can show you how to leapfrog the learning curve.

Could you imagine a doctor having that mindset? Why spend 11 years becoming a doctor? Why not just get that push button surgery guide for $197 USD? It's delivered by FedEx and comes with a full unconditional 90 day money back guarantee! And what about that handy prescription suggestion tool? Is that cool, or what? Man, you can knock 10 years off the learning curve.

Bizarre? Indeed.

It doesn't work that way offline, and it doesn't work that way online, either, no matter what the profiteers tell you.

There are five things you need to know if you want to succeed online.

  • 1) Who is your target market?

If you think your target market is, "Well golly gee, pretty much everyone," then you don't know your own target market.

  • 2) What is your industry advantage?

Sometimed dubbed USP, your industry advantage is the reason people would buy from you instead of from someone else selling the same thing you sell. If you don't know why people should buy from you, how on earth is anyone else supposed to?

  • 3) How will you promote?

If you don't know exactly how and where to reach your target market... you probably aren't, and you probably won't.

  • 4) When will they buy?

Statistically, less than one in a thousand people will buy on their very first visit. If you don't know what conversion rate is, or how to measure it, or how to improve it, you need to learn - if you're ever going to earn.

  • 5) Where will you present what you offer?

Whether it's a blog or a website, you need a web presence that says you are serious and you are not a rank amateur. According to a Consumer Web Watch survery, the #1 criteria that consumers use to judge credibility is website design. On the Internet, you seldom get a second chance to make a good first impression.

One of the strange ironies of the Internet is that most of the profiteers promoting push button solutions have, themselves, followed the five steps above.

Maybe it's time you did, too?

George Bushs Secret To Successful Internet Marketing

    Writen by Willie Crawford

Former U.S. president, George Bush Senior told the following story during a broadcast back in 1989...

A young boy and an old man were walking along a beach. As they walked, the boy picked up each starfish he passed and threw them back into the sea. Confused, the old man asked him why.

"If I left them here," the boy said, "they would dry up and die. I am saving their lives."

"But the beach goes on for miles and there are millions of starfish," the old man said. "How can what you're doing make any difference?"

The boy looked at the starfish in his hand, threw it into the ocean, and answered, "It makes a difference to this one."

How does that relate to Internet marketing?

Our quest into the world of making money online can often be like that walk along the beach. The starfish lying on the sand are the tens of thousands of people who, wanting to start their own business, have bought into some hype, and joined schemes and scams that have absolutely no chance of working for most of them.

These starfish... these people who have bet their lives' dreams, and often life's savings, on a poorly conceived, over-hyped "business opportunity" strike me as starfish stranded on that beach. They are so close to the ocean, - to proven online businesses they can own, and yet they need a little help.

As a consultant, and someone many people come to for solutions, I see too many who have bought into a "packaged deal" that includes everything from a complete turnkey website to guaranteed traffic. In theory, all they need to do is turn it on, and it will spit out dollar bills.

The dream of an instant, foolproof business is simply very, very appealing to some. We all know that if it were THAT easy, everybody would be doing it. Still, we like to believe that it is... just maybe... possible. It's sort of like playing the lottery. We know our chances are one in one hundred million of winning, but maybe... just maybe...

Back to that walk along the beach... You can actually earn a decent living online being that boy walking along the beach. You save these starfish, one at a time by showing them what really does work online. You see people wasting time and money on some business concept that is failing them, and you do the kind-hearted thing. You gently show them the errors of their ways.

Many will still stubbornly hold on to the scam they have bought into, and continue trying to make that work. Their chances of ever making a dime are less than average. They are still looking for the easy, no-effort way, that doesn't exist!

Some will notice that YOU are earning a living online and want to know how you do it. That's your invitation to show them what has actually proven to work for you. That's your green light to throw them back into the "Internet marketing ocean" and give them another chance at success... a much better than average chance because you teach them how not to wash up on the shore again.

One term we see used online frequently is six-figure income. That threshold has a magical effect with many because they have difficulty achieving it. You can easily achieve a six or even seven-figure income online. All you have to do is help others the do the same. They will happily pay you for your help. Help someone to earn $200,000 a year and they won't mind paying you handsomely for that. Teach them the proper way to do it and they will be forever grateful to you.

Now that you know the key, there's only one thing for you to do. That is to get started. If you don't know how, that's simple too... let those already doing what you want to do teach you. One way to do this is to join me at the Internet Marketing How To Workshop for a tremendous start. The workshop is taught by 11 people who "save starfish" all day long. The 1 Internet Marketing Mistake Almost Everyone Makes

    Writen by Michael Senoff

If there is one overall mistake almost every single Internet marketer makes -- even after years of experience and success -- it's this:

They spend all their time getting new customers, clients and leads...and put off going back to their existing list.

    It's absolutely true.

Most people never follow up and sell their existing customers anything else. Or if they do, it's one or two times and then that's it.

Heck, even the late marketing genius Joe Karbo threw out the names of his customers.

And I'm as guilty as anyone.

I think the reason for this is because we're programmed to go after new business, new business, new business.

But if you want to multiply your sales quickly and easily, without spending any money on new advertising and marketing, just go after your existing customers.

The people who already know, like and trust you. The people who are most likely to buy from you anyway, because you have that relationship with them. You have that bond. They have bought from you in the past and are happy with what you sent, and may want more.

    Sometimes a lot more.

But you'll never know unless you send them an offer. You'll never know unless you draft a simple email and blast it to your list every now and then.

Don't worry, you aren't "bugging" them. They wouldn't be on your list if they didn't want to hear from you. And those who get offended because you "dare" send them a sales pitch are never going to give you money anyway. Be glad if they unsubscribe from your list and get out of your life.

Try it yourself and see. If your customers haven't gotten an ad from you in a while, draft a simple offer (doesn't have to be fancy or elaborate) and send it to your list.

You may just be pleasantly surprised by the results.

Internet Marketing Tools Part Six Html Basics

    and < /BODY > tags.

    < HTML > < HEAD > < TITLE >Your Web Page Title< /TITLE > < /HEAD > < BODY >

    < /BODY > < /HTML >

Each HTML tag above contains an opening tag and a closing tag. The opening tag is written with the command enclosed with brackets.

    Example:

    < HTML >

The closing tag contains a forward slash followed by the command enclosed with brackets.

    Example:

    < /HTML >

The opening tag is telling the browser to begin the specified action and the closing tag is telling the browser to end the action.

The proper way to write HTML is to place your closing tags in sequence with your opening tags.

    Example:

    < B >< I >Example of the proper sequence of writing HTML< /I >< /B >

Notice that the closing tags are in sequence with the opening tags.

When you have several opening tags, the closing tags will begin with the last opening tag and end with the first. Are you totally confused now? Here's some more examples.

    This is an example of a properly written code: < B >< I >Example< /I >< /B >

    This is an example of an improperly written code: < B >< I >Example< /B >< /I >

    Creating a Basic Document

Begin writing your HTML by creating your document's basic layout -- beginning with < HTML > and ending with < /HTML >:

    < HTML > < HEAD > < META NAME="Description" CONTENT="Description of your web page" > < META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="Keywords that best describe your web page separated with a comma." > < TITLE >Your Page Title< /TITLE > < /HEAD > < BODY > This area will contain everything that will be visible through a web browser such as text and graphics. < /BODY > < /HTML >

< HTML >- Begins your HTML document

< HEAD > - Contains information about the page such as, the TITLE, META tags for proper Search Engine indexing, STYLE tags, which determine the page layout and JavaScript coding for special effects.

< TITLE > - The TITLE of your page. This will be visible in the title bar of your visitors' browser.

Note: Make sure you include your most relevant keyword phrase within your "title" for Search Engine indexing. A keyword phrase is two or more words that best describe your website. For example, if your website focuses on "grooming dogs" then your best keyword phrase will be "dog grooming."

    < /TITLE > - Closes the < TITLE > tag.

    < /HEAD > - Closes the < HEAD > tag.

< BODY > - This is where you will begin writing your document.

    < /BODY > - Closes the < BODY > tag.

    < /HTML > - Closes the < HTML > tag.

    Basic Text Elements

    < B > - Bold Text

    < B >Example< /B >

    < I > - Italic

    < I >Example< /I >

    < U > - Underline

    < U >Example< /U >

    Color Codes

If you would like to specify a certain text or background color, you can do so by using color codes.

RGB color codes are represented as hexadecimal values. The RGB color codes contain three sets of numbers representing the amount of Red, Green and Blue contained in a color. These codes must be used within your HTML to specify your selected colors.

Now, to put the above statement in English...if you'd like to display your text in a certain color, you must include the hexadecimal color code within your font tag. Each color has its own color code.

Here are a few of the basic color codes:

    Black - #000000
    White - #FFFFFF
    Red - #FF0000
    Green - #00C000
    Blue - #0000FF
    Yellow - #FFFF00

    Example:

    < font color="#FF0000" >Example< /FONT >

You can find a 216 safe color chart here:
    http://www.web-source.net/216_color_chart.htm

    Creating Links

In order to navigate a web page, you must create links. Links are created with an anchor, an href attribute and a URL (Uniform Resource Locator). URL's provide the browser with the location of the link, the name of the file and the method in which to access the file.

    Example:

    < A HREF="http://www.domain.com/" >Link< /A >

When you begin writing your HTML code, all of your codes will be placed between your < BODY > and

Buying Wholesale A Few Dos And Donts

    Writen by Richard Grady

As most of you know, I have worked with wholesalers both on and offline for many years and a number of my websites are based around helping people find and trade with wholesale suppliers.

I receive a fairly constant stream of emails from customers and potential customers asking various questions about buying from wholesalers and this has been the case for the past few years. These questions always increase in volume around this time of the year as people try and grasp a bit of buying madness that surrounds Christmas. In view of this, I would like to throw a few do's and don'ts out there which will benefit anyone new to trading.....

    1. One of the most common 'gripes' I get from people is that they can't find low prices for popular products online. It never ceases to amaze me how little effort some people want to put into making money....

The fact is that it is highly unlikely that you will find the best prices for the majority of products online - this is especially the case in the UK as many of the larger wholesalers don't even have websites. More often than not, an online wholesaler is merely someone that has gone to an offline wholesaler and purchased a load of stock to mark up and offer to online buyers. If the wholesaler you are buying from online doesn't have a trade warehouse or premises that you can visit and purchase from, there is every possibility that they are not a wholesaler at all but simply a middleman.

Cut out the middleman and pick up the phone or better still, visit prospective suppliers and build a relationship with them. Buying wholesale stock online may be convenient but in most cases you won't be getting the best deal and you may also be missing out on additional stock that isn't advertised online. Note that this isn't so much the case in the US where many big wholesalers do have excellent online 'warehouses' - we are yet to catch up in the UK :-(

    2. eBay is an excellent venue for buyers and sellers BUT it is also the biggest marketplace in the World. This means that if you want to sell there, you will be in competition with some of the largest traders in the World. Don't be surprised if you can buy products cheaper on eBay than you can from your local wholesaler. Chances are that the seller has negotiated a massive discount for buying in huge bulk or they may even be importing the products themselves (or using their buying power to source direct from the manufacturer). Unless you are in the position of being able to buy in similar quantities, you simply won't be able to compete on a like for like basis with many popular product lines.

    3. People often email me asking where they can find a wholesaler for a really specific, niche item (for example horse-riding saddles). With something so specific, it is highly unlikely that you will find an individual wholesaler that deals solely in that product. Often time it will be necessary to make your wholesale purchases direct from the manufacturer. Therefore, if you are having trouble locating a supplier for a particular item, don't be afraid to pick up the telephone to the manufacturer and simply ask them who their main distributors are.

    4. I've said it so many times before but I still get emails about this one - avoid products such as DVDs, computer games, electrical goods etc like the plague. The profit margin is tiny and you won't be able to compete with the bigger sellers. I don't know how much clearer I can make it - unless you want to work for peanuts, just steer clear of these products. The only exception is if you can add value in some way and differentiate yourself from the other larger sellers.

    5. Remember too that if you are struggling to find a product at a particular price, there is every possibility that what you are looking for just doesn't exist. I have lost count of the number of times people have emailed me asking where they can buy 'product A for £x each' and when I have asked them why they think they should be able to buy it at that price, they reply that 'it sounds about the right sort of price for a wholesale purchase'!! Seriously - they have just made up the figure in their head that they 'think' they should be able to buy at!! Usually in these situations, the figure is wayyyy off.....

    6. As with everything, buying and selling products takes a bit of effort (in fact, it can often take a lot of effort) but those willing to put the work in are the ones that benefit financially.

If you want to sit at home and buy stock online to resell on eBay, then don't be surprised if you find yourself working hard for minimal profits. If however you are prepared to visit a few wholesalers, check out the latest stock as it arrives, build up a relationship and negotiate a great deal with your new business partner, then you have every right to expect to see a good return on your investments....

6 Things You Must Do To Automate Your Ebusiness To Increase Your Profits And Get Your Life Back

    Writen by Ettione Stuckey

    1. Build Targeted Email Lists

You must build your own targeted lists of subscribers. This is easily done using autoresponders that let you sequentially send a series of messages to your subscribers. Entice these subscribers to join your list by giving them a valuable product/service in return. Last and certainly not least, set this process up to run without you ever having to touch it again - automate it.

    2. Track your advertising campaigns.

You MUST do this to keep track of your expenses and profits. Tracking can tell you where your visitors are coming from and what they are buying. It can also tell you which of your affiliates are performing really well, and which ones need your help. Tracking your ads can also point out how well your JV-deals are performing. It can let you know where and where NOT to place your ads.

    3. Setup a Newsletter.

Setup a newsletter or niche ezine to capture emails. You can even set this up on your own domain. Set up what's called an" auto-niche ezine". This could be a X-day training course, or an ezine that you publish quite frequently. The trick to this is to create about 8 or 9 messages before you begin accepting subscribers. This way if you use your autoresponder to send weekly messages, you'll always be several messages ahead of the game. I suggest sending weekly, with mailings no less than 3 days apart - unless you're offering a training course where the information can be assimilated and applied quickly. Even here, you should give your readers a chance to digest the information.

    4. Setup an affiliate program.

There are several people out there who would rather market other peoples' HOT products, rather than create their own. This is great for you, if you're running your own quality affiliate program. Select a program that allows you to not only offer your affiliates an affiliate link to promote, but one where you can train your affiliates to sell your product. Guess what? You can use autoresponders for that too. Simply create a series of messages that teach your affiliates how to promote. You should also allow your affiliates to use your text and images (banners, etc.) to promote for you. Also, it would be really bottom-line affecting if you and your affiliates could track your ad campaigns. That is the icing on the cake and some pretty good icing too. You and your affiliates get to zero in on the most effective and least effective advertising methods and adjust your campaigns accordingly.

    5. Use proper product management

Some people don't understand this one. You should use shopping carts for physical products, not digital ones. Your credit card processing and product delivery should be secure and efficient. If you're selling digital products (ebooks, software, etc.), make sure your customer downloads are secure so people cannot steal from you. Yep - people steal on the Internet. The ideal download link is one that is encrypted and that expires after a certain time period - say 24 hours. This gives your customer plenty of time to download their new product. For physical products, your shopping cart should be responsive and searchable. The layout should be simple and intuitive. If you offer your customer options such as colors and/or sizes, make sure this is easy for them to follow and integrates seamlessly with your cart.

    6. Follow-up promptly and professionally

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) can make you or it could break you. You must always practice prompt and courteous communication with your prospects and customers. A good practice is to use an autoresponder and/or help-desk system to follow-up with your customers and to offer them support. An auto-responder with a simple message stating, "Thank You for your inquiry. Someone will contact you shortly...." could work wonders for your image. It could also be that extra something that makes a customer remain loyal and/or refer you to their friends and family.

A Support/Ticketing system with pre-formatted answers to commonly asked questions can cut your response time dramatically. This is especially powerful if mail-merge functionality is included as well. Mail-merge is a way of automatically including things like the customer's name and email address, etc in your message. In your auto-responder it would look like this: "Hello $firstname, thank you for buying our widgets! We love you!"

    7. Use a single all-in-one ecommerce solution to mange your business

An Internet business is probably the easiest and most profitable business in the world to setup. Motivating Shoppers With Online Coupons Part 1 Of 2

    Writen by Gary Gray

Online shopping continues to grow at leaps and bounds. Depending on who you ask, the numbers for increase in e-commerce have been consistently coming in at 20-30% year over year. These numbers present a great opportunity for online stores of both products and services. But despite these staggering figures, increasing competition continues to dilute the marketplace. One great opportunity for sellers to increase traffic and revenue in their virtual stores is to offer online coupon codes and discounts through an affiliate program and their advertising. Coupons and discounts have always been a great way to motivate buyers in brick and mortar stores, and now that opportunity has migrated to web shopping!

Coupon codes with expiration help motivate buyers into taking advantage of a one-time discount. Suggesting creative such as "10% off home and garden orders over $50," for instance, gives not only buyers a great opportunity for a deal, but it allows sellers to push a sale or take advantage of seasonal fluctuations in the marketplace. Online coupons can also be a great way to push a specific product in excess inventory or a service that is high demand. By offering a coupon like "Save 20% on Rossignol Zenith Ski's," or "Web hosting only $3.99 a month – hurry expires in 5 days," sellers are able to create a real or fictitious supply or demand by offering these deep discounts to their website visitors. A great place to find examples of these online coupons for some of the web's top merchants can be found at Coupon Chief.

Another great opportunity to use coupons is with free shipping discount coupons. Many smart online shoppers are beginning to realize the incremental cost to purchasing online due to shipping, sometimes increasing their end price by 10 – 20%! One source of substantial motivation to these buyers can come from giving a free shipping deal. This allows those customers who can't leave the house or prefer to shop in the privacy of their home to realize the same (or even discounted) cost to making their purchases online.

And don't forget the code! Offering a coupon code or promotion code that a buyer can enter at checkout is a great way to give them a sense of entitlement and make them feel like they're getting the best deal out there. Think about it to yourself for a minute – when you're using coupons at a grocery store, don't you feel that you're getting the most for your money and stretching your dollar in the most significant way? Shoppers of any product or service get this same feeling when they can input a special coupon code into a box to get an additional savings at checkout.

Another great aspect of coupons is expiration dates. Coupons with expiration can give a sense of urgency to a sale. Again drawing on an analogy to grocery coupons, when you have a coupon for toilet paper that is expiring within the week, do you go ahead and make that purchase knowing you will eventually need to buy the product [without the coupon]? Of course you do, you want to make sure you're getting the best deal! It's easy to see that by putting a time limit on a coupon or discount, you easily can add a sense of urgency to the sale to get a higher conversion.

Online coupon codes can be a great way to market your web store, and is a unique tool to increase sales and boost traffic to your e-commerce website. Next time we'll talk about landing pages and the use of affiliates to further maximize the benefits of online coupon codes, so stay tuned!

Gary Gray - http://www.couponchief.com - provides free online coupon codes and discounts for hundreds of popular internet retailers. With a newsletter and RSS feeds, they syndicate new coupon codes and discounts to motivated online shoppers.

    Shooting Holes Through Conventional Thinking

    Writen by G. Saintiny

Whenever I hear that "everybody knows" something, I can't help but be suspicious. After all, everyone once knew the Earth was flat, that humans couldn't fly, and that time was a constant throughout the universe. It's no different in the field of internet marketing.

For example, I myself slipped into thinking that the average person couldn't possibly make money off Google AdSense, I sure ended up swallowing my words, when I discovered that bidding for certain keywords was going through the roof, at $30-$60 a click!

Well, maybe a blog that centers on the right luxury keywords can make average marketers money, after all.

Another bit of conventional thinking about marketing on the Internet is that you can't get listed on Google in under a season. I can't guarantee that you can. But, maneuvers to that effect have been put forward.

The simplest is rather startling. Just make a search for your URL (website address) on Google.

Can internet marketing be that be that simple? In a word, NO! (Of course, if that sounds like conventional thinking, you might want to question it.)

The point isn't whether a marketing maneuver works especially well or not. It's nice when things work. But, few techniques work all the time. And, many loopholes get shut-down soon after being popularized.

However, these little techniques help marketers uncover other techniques. And, every little bit helps.

"Is taking advantage of loopholes ethical?" some may ask. I say, "Of course." The Internet is nothing but an array of computations and relationships. Their rearrangement and analysis is, at worst inevitable. At best, that's the whole point. And, it isn't fair to expect only rich multi-national corporations to be able to reap the benefits.

This brings to mind another bit of conventional thinking. It's said that you've got to have a hot product or service to make money on the Internet.

Oh, come on—some will say. That's not conventional thinking; that's common sense! Oh, is it, really!?

It's not such common sense when one recalls a top-selling product called Everything Men Know About Women. The author had a lot of fun touring and selling this now famous book. If you run into it, you won't be surprised by the title on the cover, but the fact that the pages inside are completely blank may make you smile.

So, the product's value is a matter of opinion. But, on some level, one must admit that there's simply no there there!

If you're an internet marketer in search of a product to sell, could you think of a way to apply this idea to your niche? Perhaps Everything Republicans Know About Good Government? Everything Dog Lovers Know About Good Taste? Everything Conventional Thinkers Know About Internet Marketing?

About G. Saintiny: G. Saintiny is a conceptual artist who has long been fascinated at how words and signals spell order and power on the Internet. It's only after years of fascination and research that knowledge rewarded such curiosity. "I truly believe anyone can create success on the Internet," says Saintiny. "With the right resources and tools, that is."

The 3 Reasons Why People Fail In Internet Marketing And The Solutions

    Writen by Martin Franzen

Here are the top 3 reasons why people don't get the results they're after in their internet marketing business:

    Problem 1. Information overload.

Without a doubt, this is the biggest problem when dealing with info online. It's so easy to get caught up in thousands of disorganized tips and tricks that you just end up lost and confused, with no idea what to do. It's a scary problem, because you probably THINK a million ideas would be a good thing... but that's a HUGE mistake. You need clarity, focus, and a simple step-by-step approach.

The solution: Step back from the process, until you see the big picture. Complete immersion and concentration on ONE good strategy at a time + focused action gets results. Nothing else.

    Problem 2. Not taking action.

This is a direct result of problem #1. You get so hypnotized by lots of ideas that you get stuck in the planning phase forever. You feel like you're working because you're reading, buying products, spending time working... And one day, you suddenly find that years have gone by with little or no results. This is a painful revelation. Please, don't put yourself through it again.

The solution: WAKE UP today, and realize that you need to ACT now. Just pick ONE action now that will get results, and just DO it until it is done. Celebrate. Repeat. That's the way to get results.

Problem 3. No good map to follow.

Taking a step in the wrong direction moves you further from your goal. You need to know what to do, and in what order to do it, before you act. People who try to reinvent the wheel and find their own way before mastering the basics waste time and money. People who follow bad advice waste time and money. It's better to do what has been proven to work.

The solution: Find a good teacher/guide, and pay what it takes to learn from them right away. There are many good guides available, so just pick someone with a good reputation that appeals to you. Then study and model their approach until you get the results you're after. This is a very wise investment. Always act immediately on what they teach you.

That's it. When you really understand how important these 3 things are, nothing can stop you. And I bet you'll find the process a whole lot more enjoyable.

Simple enough, but it's taken me many years to learn this. The sooner you get it, the better.

Toto Were Not In Kansas Anymore

    Writen by MaryAnne Donovan

So you're a small business, say like the corner candy shop that serves all the kids in the neighborhood. You get a web site. You're still just the corner candy store, right?

    Wrong.

Here's the deal. Once you put up a web site, your business catapults into the global ranks, alongside the likes of IBM, Kodak, and Proctor & Gamble. Stop and think about that. Unlike any time in history, every Tom, Dick, Harry, and Jane can go side-by-side with the "big boys" (and girls).

There are two points to be made here. First is regarding search engine optimization. Today, over 60% of web sites are not optimized for effective ranking results. Therefore, even the smallest of the small business with a website needs to think about performing search engine optimization, and we're ascribing to organic SEO. To rank well is especially important to small businesses that thrive on a local market because 20% of all searches now are to find local sources for products and services, a figure that continues to increase.

In addition, your business is now effectively open 24/7. Anybody can visit your website anytime and interface with your cyber services. And this brings us to point number 2. Here you are, alongside all the heavy-hitters of the world, appealing to pre-qualified customers who find you through good SEO and a relevant search term. To meet your conversion targets, your site has to have a design that puts it on the same level as those same heavy-hitters. In other words, regarding your image, amateur is out, professional is in.

What are we saying here? First, you've got to have your site optimized, using ethical SEO methods, so your site will be high in the search results. This is true even if your market is mainly local because of the search engines increasing localization capabilities, and the increasing use of the Internet by consumers to find local resources. Second, you've got to look good. Plain and simple. If you don't have the skills to do these things yourself, then find someone who does.

8 Things You Must Do If You Want To Have A Working Ecommerce Web Site

    Writen by B. Hopkins

E-commerce is a growing process that more and more businesses are realizing is necessary to have as part of their business model. Unfortunately it can be a complicated solution that requires knowledge of many back-end functional components that most entrepreneurs aren't familiar with.

This article will discuss the specific components that are required to create an ecommerce web site. It will discuss what the components are, and what they do.

    1. Sign up with a quality web hosting provider

Choose a web hosting provider that gives you at least one SQL database, and can do server side scripting, such as SHTML, PHP, and/or CGI scripting. You want a service that will give you at least 300Mb of space, and will give you at least 5 email accounts if possible.

If you can afford it, you should request your own IP address, so you don't have to share your IP address with lots of other web site owners, some of who could be spammers. It only costs a few dollars extra to obtain your own IP address in most cases anyway.

    2. Use a good shopping cart

The shopping cart is used to keep track of your visitors desired purchases. In order to serve a multiple number of visitors, your shopping cart needs to do the following:

    1) Allow multiple simultaneous users.
    2) Keep a running total of the costs.
    3) Finalize the order.

Sometimes a shopping cart is located on the same server as your web site, and sometimes it is located on a different server altogether. There are usually many reasons for doing both.

    3. Create a good database

The database is usually kept on the same server as your ecommerce site. This will usually mean that you will need to get a hosting plan that gives you a database. SQL is a typical database that comes with many hosting accounts.

The database is usually used to:

    1) Keep customer data 2) Create customer personalization 3) Keep product data 4) Hold shopping cart contents 5) Integrate with other systems

    4. Accept credit cards

You will want the ability to accept credit cards. Sure, you can run an ecommerce business by using fax, and/or requiring people to send in your checks, but you will be leaving a lot of money on the table if you don't accept credit cards in one form or another.

    5. Use a secure socket layer

A secure socket layer allows encrypts the data between the customer's computer and your web server. It keeps prying eyes from sneaking a peek at sensitive data, such as credit card info. You can run a business without it, and you may get some sales, but the vast majority of people will not purchase from your web site if they don't see the secure connection indicator on their web browser. Different browsers indicate the secure connection in different ways.

    6. Use a payment gateway

A payment gateway collects the credit card info and sales info (price, customer info, etc.) and does some sort of basic fraud check, to make sure the credit card isn't stolen, etc. It charges the customer's credit card and deposits the money into your bank account.

    7. Acquire a merchant account

A merchant account allows your business to charge sales to credit cards. It is basically a type of agreement between your business and a bank.

    8. Get a separate business bank account

You will need a bank account that will accept the deposits for the credit card charges. As with most everything else, business bank accounts vary in features and costs based upon the servicing bank.

Creating a Web site to sell requires complex technology, but it can be relatively straightforward. There are services that can easily provide the required functionality, and in most cases, the greatest challenge is deciding what kinds of services you need, and then being able to connect the pieces together.

    Be A Hot Guest

    Writen by Shannon Cherry

Want to make an impact with your online business in front of thousands of people just by talking? Stop dreaming about Oprah... and start doing radio.

Did you know that American radio stations need more than 10,000 guests per day to fill their shows? Plus there are thousands internet radio shows on the Net. And, the internet's next big thing: podcasting, is now becoming a great way to talk about your products or services. The sky's the limit with opportunties for any online business.

Radio producers are constantly looking for compelling guests. And the key to getting their attention is to make sure that whatever you're going to talk about is:

    1) Controversial. Producers LOVE anything that gets their phone lines going. And nothing does the trick like a good argument.

    2) Entertaining. If you can make people laugh and tell them fascinating stories, you'll always be in demand as a radio guest.

    3) Informative. Give people useful, timely information. Give them stuff that makes them say, 'Wow! That's amazing! I didn't know that!' Or a combination of the three.

Your first step is to come up with topic ideas that are interesting, fun, controversial, new or unusual. Make sure that your topic is appealing to the listeners. You need to focus on a problem and why you're the solution. Don't focus on the product or service you want to promote.

Here are the top ten most appealing subjects to help you get thinking about your topic:

    1) Sex and relationships
    2) Saving money
    3) School violence
    4) Corruption
    5) Sexual harassment
    6) Health and fitness
    7) Hollywood & celebrities
    8) Sports
    9) Making money
    10) Travel

Now narrow that focus down to a title that's attractive to your target audience. For an online entrepreneur coach, you may come up with: "The No-Stress Way to Start Your Own Online Business." For a gift basket maker, your title may be: "Get Your Partner Ready for Romance with Small Gifts." A internet safety expert could use the title "Keeping Your Child Safe Online, Even While You're at Work."

Once you've got a great title, you need to create what I call a Hot Guest Sheet, similar to a speaker's one-sheet, this one-page document highlights the title and outlines why you are the perfect guest for the topic. This Hot Guest Sheet should also have the following information:

    1) Your credentials. If you've written a book, articles or even an ezine, mention it. You're looking to show the producer you are an authority on the topic.

    2) A brief bio that really sells your personality. Give information that gives people insight into who you are, not just what you do.

    3) Give some idea of what the audience will learn from you. These should tease the producer, making him or her compelled to want to know more.

    4) A list of other places where you've been interviewed previously.

    5) Possible questions the interviewer can ask you.

    6) Your contact info

Once you have all the information together for your Hot Guest Sheet, all you need to do is fax it to producers. But remember, just like any media outlet, each radio has a target market, or demographic, so be sure to only send your Hot Guest Sheet to producers who match your target audience. After all, if your target market is women in their 30s, your not going to want to send your sheet to a heavy metal station. Women in their 30s tend not to be headbangers, so you'd be wasting time and money sending it to that producer. Always keep in mind your target audience.

Social Proof A Powerful Marketing Tool

    Writen by Guna Deivendran

Everybody's doing it then I can do it too. This is the mentality that many of us have when it comes to making a choice in our life. Why do we do this? We do this because we all like to make the right decision when it comes to spending or making a life long commitment. If ten other people make the decision to purchase purple kittens then you believe it is socially acceptable for you to purchase a purple kitten as well. This is social proof and it is a powerful marketing tool.

If you manage to convince a potential customer of yours that there are hundreds of people lined up to buy your product then it would be fairly easy for you to convince that potential customer to purchase your product. They believe you because they believe that many other people have either purchased your product or is about to purchase it. You just earned their trust by letting your potential customer know of what others think of your product.

Here are few ways that you can utilize this:

    • Have a traditional testimonial section for your product. In this section you may want to post few comments and feedbacks you have received for your product. This has been around for a long time but this does not really hit a home run when it comes to marketing. People are used to this so you will have to make that extra step.

    • Have some other site do a case study on your product. Give free samples to some people and have them do a case study. Take the case study and post it with your product. This tells your potential customer what experience others had with your product and what the recommend. This is good if you get a case study done by a credible source.

    • Create a sense of "hype" or "urgency" for your product before and after the launch. Limit the quantity of your product and work on influencing your audience that this product is so huge and it will be sold out within days of launch. Let them know how many people are waiting to take a peek at it and how many wants to buy it from you. This influences them to make a choice to purchase your product because everybody around them seems to like it too.

The more people you engage to believe in your particular product then more acceptable your product becomes. There are many ways in which you can utilize the power of social proof.

Have the right product and use social proof with the right motives, then this can be a powerful marketing tool for you. If you like to read further on social proof or human influences, I would recommend reading "Influence: The Psychology of Persuassion" by Robert Cialdini.

    Writen by Ashley McCracken

Welcome one and all. Whether you're a seasoned campaigner or a new internet marketer, I trust you'll benefit from what I'm about to share with you.

Imagine being given the key to Aladdin's cave - yours to keep and do with as you please. Now imagine the possibilities. They're endless! Riches beyond your wildest dreams to live the ultimate lifestyle, being able to help loved ones, the community you live in - you decide. How good would this feel to be able to help others? It's good to dream isn't it? Now, what if you could turn this dream into reality? Surely anything is possible if you truly desire changes to your current circumstances. I firmly believe this. Your mind is truly amazing and incredibly powerful. Isn't this one of the main reasons for starting (or wanting to start) your own business? To provide the fortune and lifestyle of choice. I say thank goodness for the internet and for the business known as "Internet Marketing". What other business allows you to work from virtually anywhere, anytime, with little start up costs and potentially huge returns? I'm not saying it's easy or that everyone can expect the same incredible results. What I mean is the internet offers the opportunity for success in ways a traditional business does not.

Like many of you reading this article, I too have tried many different business and investment ventures. To date my success has been mixed, yet I'm determined to succeed. And in the not too distant future I'm confident of being able to supercharge my online profits by creating a 24x7, 365 day per year cash machine. How you ask? Well quite simply, with step by step help from an "internet guru", a business mentor who has been there done that! More importantly this "guru" is still doing it today and willing to share his knowledge and experience with those eager to learn. So why would you (or me for that matter) spend most of your life working a dead end job or perhaps running a traditional business? Who needs long hours, high stress levels, and poor financial gains?

So imagine my excitement at finding this "business success mentor" who is there to help me (and others) every step of the way ... to achieving financial and lifestyle success. For me it's like having the key to Aladdin's Cave. You too can benefit financially from knowing and applying the tips, tricks and techniques found at this fantastic website. Do you know the number one golden rule for online success? It's the foundation for running a successful business. So whether you're an internet newbie, seasoned online professional or just looking for strategies to improve your online success, take action now to include this must have technique in your bag of online tricks ...

    *****************************************************************

    Golden Rule #1:

Capture the email address of ALL your website visitors for your future profit.

    *****************************************************************

Simple isn't it? Yet I'm surprised how many websites I visit that don't even bother to apply this golden rule. Often, as research shows, it can take at least seven (7) communications with your prospects (or existing customers) before they buy from you. Sure, people buy on impulse but there are no guarantees with this method. It really is a hit and miss strategy. Think about it. Really, you've done all the necessary hard work - found the ideal product or service; created your website; you've managed to attract prospects to your website yet profits still seem to be down or non existant. Why?

So how can you increase your strike rate and increase your profits? You want to sell your product(s) and/or service to more visitors - but how you ask? Firstly, by applying Golden Rule #1. Then you follow up prospects with structured communications at regular intervals (whilst not being too pushy), winning over their trust by providing valuable information, either by offering FREE ebooks, videos or ecourses. Failure to capture a visitor's email address is surely a recipe for disaster. A prospect / customer email address is your Aladdins Cave. It needs to be managed and nurtured so that it will grow and continue day after day to bring you treasures. Seriously, by not doing this you are giving away potential profits to your competition!

Take action now to ensure you apply Golden Rule #1 on your website. I know I will be. The mechanics of doing this are quite simple. Get the knowledge and the step by step how to do it, then you're in business. Then you're ready for Golden Rule #2.

This plus many other valuable insider tips, tricks and techniques are available at http://www.internetprofitmentor.com

Why Resale Rights Are Good For Business

    Writen by Niall Mehaffey

Resale rights products are one of the easiest products to start selling and profiting from on the net. Basically, you buy a resale rights product, upload it to the web, drive traffic to your sales page and start taking orders, obviously that's a short explanation but there isn't really much else you need to do. It's a ready to go business that you get, you have a product and a sales page so all you need to do is set them up and start doing business.

Here are a few reasons why resale rights products are an excellent way to start an internet business:

    1) You do not have to make your own product. Making products can take a lot of time depending on how skilled you are and some people just do not have the time, skills or ability to make a good product. When you buy a resale rights product you have a ready to go product that can be sold immediately, you do not need to spend weeks or months creating your own product.

    2) You usually have a prewritten sales page. Sales pages are not easy to write and to have a good one written for you can cost up to twenty thousand dollars but you are usually provided a professionally written and professionally designed sales page with resale rights products. This can again save you a lot of time and money.

    3) You can keep all the profits. When you obtain a resale rights product, you can sell them and keep all the profits for yourself, you have the right to sell the product and keep all the money. Sometimes there are restrictions like you must sell at a particular price or you cannot sell on auction sites but most of the time you are allowed to sell the product in whatever way you wish and for whatever price you wish.

Like I already mentioned, resale rights products are practically ready to go businesses that you just set up, which takes very little time to do, and start selling.

Here are a few methods that you can use to sell resale rights products:

    1) Join forums related to the product and get involved with the conversations. This is a very easy way to advertise your website as all you really need to do is discuss things with other people and include a link to your website as your signature. The more you post, the more you advertise your site and therefore, the more chance you have of making sales.

    2) Bundle some resale rights products together and make a super package. Instead of selling one product at a time, you could sell a package of them and maybe raise the price or keep the price low and hopefully sell a lot more of them.

    3) You could use one of the products as an incentive to build an email list and then sell the other products on the backend. This can be extremely profitable if done right. The idea is that you give a valuable product away in exchange for your website visitors email address, then you send them promotional offers of other resale rights products or packages and because they have requested to be on your email list, you can sell to them over and over again.

There are many ways to profit from resale rights and many marketers are doing so right now, why don't you?

Ebook Universe is a resale rights membership site where you can get access to TONS of the hottest products on the market, check it out at http://www.ebook-universe.co.uk

Now lets get to the fun part... I will tell you the kind of resources that can give you thousands and thousands of dollars worth of Free Publicity and Free Advertising.

*Create a powerful Article for the search engines. Make sure that you pick out at least 3 to 4 major keywords or keyword phrases and use them evenly in your article. Also make sure the key words and key word phrases are the words that most people would search for in a search engines Manually submit your article pages to the major search engines. Make some of your doorway pages articles so that you can increase your search engines ranking.

*When using any submission software to submit your site to 1000s of search engines, FFA, Classified Ads, Message Boards and data bases, always track your hits, that way you can double or triple your performance, by submitting it more than once. It really does work. If you find a winning ad or an ad copy that people are responding to more often and you start to generating tons of traffic and sales... start paying more and more attention to it to see how you can get that same winning messages to millions of people and find a more targeted market in the process.

Furthermore once you're done reading this Article you will find out how you can get at least $200,000 of Free Publicity through just press release alone...

*When you do email marketing. Join a lot of free email clubs and email lists. It can be worth over 35,000 people seeing your business for free. I have provided some opt-in email services and ways to extract targeted leads with the Email Magnet Software in the Gemini3Style.com members only web site.

*Make a list of other businesses, visit their web site, link to their web site, send them a personalized letter asking them to link to your business, and give them a reason why they should link to you. Then maybe offer him or her the "Email Magnet Software" that you can resell at anytime and get 50% Commission.

Not only will this make you extra cash that you can put in your pocket, it will also help the web site owner that you've contacted get a high quality and valuable information. He may later on thank you for referring him to the program. The greatest part about this idea is that every business that you contact can have a large list of lets say 25,000 people that could be interested in your product or service. This can get you tons of exposure, so remember to always contact the businesses with large lists and make sure they are targeted as well.

*Take advantages of Free Opt-in email lists and try to help others on that list. You can do a little bit of free advertising here also. You may need to test several of them until you find the ones that work for you. Just remember that the one that work for you may start making you a lot of money.

*When it comes to Newsgroups & Forums, try to also help others by giving them advice and asking questions. You can do a little bit of free advertising here also, but make sure that you're helping them. One powerful tip that I can give you is that, once you find a winning Article or a winning Press Release that you can use... You can start promoting them for free in the Newgroups & Forums and sometimes words can get around fast and you can start building your popularity in that newsgroup or forum as well as other Newsgroups or Forums.

*Use Free Auto Responders to remind people to keep coming back, "mainly for help and sometimes you can sell them" But keep in mind that your major goal is to get free publicity by helping others. Do not start bombarding them with advertisements to buy your products or services. Like I do with my Newsletter...
