A Vital Internet Marketing Resource

Writen by Matthew Eigbe

Begin from the beginning

Where to begin when trying to figure out how to make money from home on the Internet is usually the first stumbling block, even after we have decided what we would like to do.

It is important that it should be something about which you can have passion. It must be something you truly enjoy if you are to get through the often-difficult early days.

Many people buy into a system, often a multi-level marketing system, that provides them with a "free" website. Almost without exception, these people fail. Answer the following two questions and you will understand why.

1. If all you have to do is join an organization that provides everything, then sit back and watch the money flow in while you sleep, why would anyone in their right mind work for a living?

2. If it was that easy, why would any company share the profits with you, instead of watching the money flow directly into its own coffers?

If you're going to work on the Internet, even if you join a company that offers you a free website, you will need your own site to gather traffic. That means getting listed as prominently as possible in the important search engines. (Search engines do not list affiliate sites; why would they when they are all the same?) It means designing a number of web pages, writing the content, and making sure that this content is presented in such a way that the search engines like it. It means learning a lot of rules, and resubmitting pages to search engines regularly…but not too often.

Bogus material

It means keeping up with the rapid changes that take place in Internet commerce, and sorting out the wheat from the chaff. Many people waste thousands of dollars on so-called learning material that is simply bogus. And even so, your chances of reaching the top one percent of sites on the Internet are slim.

A major requirement

Affiliation and network marketing seem to be the most attractive business models for newbies because of its apparent ease. This is deceptive and that's why only a tiny proportion of them succeed. There is work involved.

In view of the attitude of search engines to affiliate websites, And search engines are a major source of qualified traffic for your website, you will have to have a website of your own. It will give you credibility, enable you exploit your special knowledge/interest build a list of your own and many more.

You can build your website in any of the following ways.

  1. Hire someone to build it for you.
  2. Build it yourself using

(a)One the many WYSIWYG (What You

See Is What You Get) programs in the market.

    (b)Some network marketing companies offer

    site builders in their package.

(c)Learn HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language),

the language for web pages. This is the ultimate.

Although it is not absolutely necessary, knowing a little about HTML will not hurt. The other day, I needed to add a banner for my network marketing company to my website which I built with a WYSIWYG program. I was able to put the code for the banner in my website because I have been trying to pick up some HTML codes.

However you do it, there is some effort to be made. And there are other tools and skills to learn and deploy in to reap the kind of rewards often dreamt of. My advice: Don't believe those hypes about enroll now and start making money in 15 minutes flat. Guaranteed.
